PAS has mooted a unity government solution - one without any opposition lawmakers - for Perak.

In a statement today, PAS president Abdul Hadi Awang, said the condition for this was that the government must be led by a Muslim.

The second condition was that the state cabinet must have a Muslim-majority.

"PAS proposes the establishment of a unity government (government without opposition) comprising all political parties (PAS, PH and BN)," he said.

This was resolved by the PAS central committee, which met today.

Presently, Perak is facing a huge legislative assembly situation.

There are 59 seats in the Perak assembly, meaning that a party or coalition must have 31 seats. No party or coalition have crossed that threshold.

Presently, Pakatan Harapan has 29 seats followed by Umno (27) and PAS (3).

It is understood that bouts of horse-trading are taking place and there has been no clear indication of which coalition would eventually have the numbers.

The Perak palace has given Harapan up to 2pm tomorrow to prove that they have the numbers to form the government.
