KUALA LUMPUR (Aug 8): Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad, now on a working visit to Japan, took the opportunity to experience a ride on the Shinkansen bullet train simulator at The Kyushu Railway Company which is also known as JR Kyushu.

“At the JR Kyushu training facility yesterday, I tried out the Shinkansen (bullet train) driver's simulator.

“It was very precise and able to simulate changes in weather (rain, snow) and day and night,” said Dr Mahathir in a Twitter post today.

A video clip accompanying the tweet showed Dr Mahathir in the driver's seat while being briefed by one of the employees.

Dr Mahathir is in Japan on a four-day working visit to Fukuoka and Oita beginning Monday.

He also delivered a keynote address at the Japan Future Leaders School in Fukuoka on Tuesday.  - Bernama

Oh No!
Please don't tell me Tun looking at Sinkansen for KL-S'pore HSR.

Sinkansen construction cost is 3 times more expensive and take 2 times longer to build.
Moreover, Japan is only good at constructing HSR in very cold environment, not in equatorial climate with high humidity and hot weather.
Believe all track build by Japan will become crooked when temperature reach 40 deg Celsius.
PH govt cannot put rakyat in hardship again.............
