KUALA LUMPUR: Observe strict standard operating procedures (SOP) against Covid-19 and refrain from holding large family gatherings during this Christmas as the nation continues to battle the pandemic, cautioned Health director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah.

He encouraged Malaysians celebrating Christmas to take advantage of video calls as an alternative to visiting families and friends in-person.

For people who are planning on physical gathering or visiting families, he advised them to practice TRIIS (Trace, Report, Isolate, Inform and Seek) before attending any celebration.

"The Health Ministry would like to wish Merry Christmas to all Malaysians who celebrate this festival, especially to the ministry's staff.

"Since Covid-19 hit the country, the public has been celebrating their respective festivals with new norms.

"Therefore, the ministry would like to remind Malaysian families who celebrate this festival to always abide by the SOP that have been outlined as we are still fighting the virus," he said in a statement today.

Dr Noor Hisham advised Malaysians to ideally, limit the number of people attending family gatherings and ensure unwell family members do not mix with healthy individuals.

"The duration of the group meet should also be limited. To ensure better ventilation, windows and doors should be left open so that air movement is freer.

"If possible, hold the celebration outside the house. Also, avoid chatting in close contact and for a long period while at the gathering.

"Observe physical distancing and wear a face mask at all times except when eating. Avoid sharing food and beverage utensils. Wash your hands often with soap or hand sanitiser, and avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth."

Dr Noor Hisham stressed that individuals who are categorised as close contact or positive for Covid-19 need to be discipline in observing quarantine to prevent the spread of the virus and indirectly protect the elderly and vulnerable groups from being infected.

"By adhering to the advice outlined, you can still celebrate this holiday with your beloved family, carefully and safely. For those who are on the road during this festive season and school holidays, drive safely. Remember the people you love."

Dr Noor Hisham please be reminded that there are more people die caused by Doctors in the Hospital unnecessarily, even cruelly; and MMC refused to justify.

Please open your eyes and see how MMC conducted bias investigation that encourage unscrupulous Doctors turned minor sickness into extreme suffering due to their total oblivious attitude; and finally lied for operation to eliminate evidences.
