BERA: Barisan Nasional (BN) must win the 15th General Election (GE15) with a huge margin to emerge as the dominant coalition to form the government, said caretaker Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob today.

The Umno vice-president said as a dominant coalition, it will enable BN to make major decisions on policies and determine the government's direction instead of relying on other political parties.

"It is in our hands (voters) to ensure that BN reclaims Putrajaya. The coalition has to be dominant by securing a huge win compared with other parties. Even if BN cannot gain a two-thirds win, we need to at least secure a simple majority to form a BN-led government.

"BN will work together with its partners, including GPS (Gabungan Parti Sarawak) and GRS (Gabungan Rakyat Sabah), and if we form the government after GE15, then BN will be the dominant party to make major decisions (in government) easily," he said. 

The former Bera member of parliament said this in his speech when opening the Bera Umno Wanita, Youth and Puteri delegates meeting here today.

Ismail Sabri said although he served as prime minister, BN contributed only 42 seats in the government and Perikatan Nasional had 49 seats.
