KUALA LUMPUR: A special documentary on Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim's "road to Putrajaya" premieres on TV3 tonight.

Titled 119 Jam Menuju Ke Putrajaya (119 Hours To Putrajaya), the documentary with Mohd Azri Atan and Mohd Said Abdullah Thani as executive producers and Nurul Syafikah Abd Masri as producer, will be screened on TV3 at 9pm.

119 Jam Menuju Ke Putrajaya chronicles the four-day and 23-hour period between the conclusion of the 15th general election on Nov 19, and the swearing in of Anwar as the country's 10th Prime Minister on Nov 24.

"After 21 million Malaysians voted for their government on Nov 19, they waited 119 hours for the new Prime Minister to be appointed. It was indeed an intense period, and a historical one worthy of a documentary," said TV3 in a statement today. 

"This special documentary takes viewers step by step along the process of appointing the new Prime Minister as well as the formation of the new government. It shows the challenges faced by all parties involved, as well as the important decisions made by the Council of Rulers to ensure that the country's political stability was maintained."

The statement added that the appointment of the country's 10th Prime Minister also marked the end of Anwar's 24-year wait to become Prime Minister.

In the 15th general election, 219 parliamentary seats were contested, and the voter turnout was the highest in history. The results ended in a hung parliament, as none of the political coalitions that contested in the election won an outright majority.
