BERSATU Youth chief Wan Ahmad Fayhsal Wan Ahmad Kamal has come under fire from pro-Pakatan Harapan (PH) cybertroopers for merely exposing the existence of a poison pen letter - purportedly against BlackRock’s involvement in the privatisation of Malaysia Airports Holdings Bhd (MAHB) - but unable to furnish ample detail, data or findings from investigations.

Social media influencer StratCommProBono (@StratcommPMX) suggested that the Machang MP learn from Economy Minister Rafizi Ramli “the right ways to make an exposure”.

“Do a study to collect data, conduct a proper investigation or dispatrch a private investigator like how Rafzi sent @akmalnasir (Housing and Local Government Deputy Minister Akmal Nasrullah Mohd Nasir);” penned StratCommProBono on the X platform.

“Once you’ve obtained the findings, call for a media conference to share the data with the media and the people.”

For context, Wan Fayhsal has cited a poison pen letter which he claimed to have received naming an Employees Provident Fund (EPF) official who was actively pushing the MAHB deal in which BlackRock-owned Global Infrastructure Partners (GIP) and the Abu Dhabi Investment Authority (ADIA) will co-own 30% of shares in the airport operator.

“I got a surat layang from someone in EPF on who is the real mastermind pushing the deal. He is involved in the sale of MAHB shares to GIP-BlackRock,” revealed the Bersatu lawmaker during the debate on SUHAKAM’s annual report and financial statement for 2021 and 2022 on Monday (July 1).

“Many EPF staff don’t dare to voice out. They don’t want to be part of this Madani deal to sell MAHB shares to GIP-BlackRock.”

In his prompt rebuttal, Wan Fayhsal chastised StratCommProBono for treating him as a fool.

“How do you know we don’t have details, data and investigation outcome? Do you think we are that stupid to expose everything one shot?”

Elsewhere, another staunch PH backer Roman Akramovich (@SyedAkramin) also hit out at the Perikatan Nasional (PN) deputy youth chief by describing the latter as “dumb beyond words”.

“Just two days ago, the Dewan Rakyat speaker has remarked that before arguing, make sure the source is authentic first. This is after he reprimanded a PAS MP for relying on fake news plucked from Facebook,” he tweeted. “And now we’ve Wan Fayhsal quoting a source from surat layang.” - July 3, 2024
