KUALA LUMPUR (July 5): Human Resources Minister Steven Sim Chee Keong said on Friday he has directed a report to be filed to the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) over the auditor general’s findings on Human Resource Development (HRD) Corp.

Sim said in a statement that he was informed of the auditing process by the auditor general and Public Accounts Committee in mid-December. He subsequently instructed the HR Ministry and HRD Corp to cooperate fully with the department and the bipartisan parliamentary committee.

“In line with the recommendations of the auditor general, I have instructed the secretary general of Kesuma (HR Ministry) Datuk Seri Khairul Dzaimee and chief executive of HRD Corp Datuk Shahul Dawood to make a report to the MACC about the discoveries of the report,” the minister said.

Within these six months, the HR Ministry has started a “re-engineering process” to ensure good governance and efficient process across the ministry and its agencies, Sim said. “The re-engineering at HRD Corp level has been implemented to ensure that the issues raised do not reoccur.”

Sim added that the ministry will have no objection to further investigation by any relevant agency and will not compromise with actions that are against the law
