KUALA LUMPUR: The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) has formed a special task force to investigate the findings made in the Auditor General's reports concerning HRD Corp, an agency under the Human Resources Ministry.

The task force is expected to visit HRD Corp and the Human Resources Ministry on Tuesday to collect documents for further investigations.

MACC's deputy chief commissioner (operations) Datuk Seri Ahmad Khusairi Yahaya said that based on the audit report, they had identified several issues that required documents and evidence from the parties involved.

"Among the documents needed are those related to investment issues, fund management and training, property purchases, and other matters.

"A special team has been formed, and several investigation papers have been opened," he said when contacted.

Ahmad Khusairi said the investigative team would visit the Human Resources Ministry and HRD Corp on Tuesday to obtain the necessary documents.

"Several individuals have been identified, and statements will be taken to assist the investigation.

"The investigation will be conducted under the MACC Act, including offences under Sections 18 and 23 of the same Act," he said.

The MACC confirmed on Friday that they had received information and documents regarding the findings made in the Auditor General's reports concerning HRD Corp.

The documents were handed over to the MACC by the ministry's secretary-general, Datuk Seri Khairul Dzaimee Daud, at 11.30am.

Earlier on Friday, Khairul said that the ministry had submitted a report to the MACC regarding issues highlighted in the Auditor General's Report and the Public Accounts Committee (PAC), which were presented in Parliament on July 4.

He said the move was in line with recommendations by the Auditor General, Datuk Wan Suraya Wan Mohd Radzi, for the ministry to submit a report to relevant enforcement agencies after the government-linked entity failed its audit.
