KUALA LUMPUR: The Parliamentary Services Act (PSA), which was repealed during the administration of Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad, will be reintroduced in Parliament in October, says Deputy Minister in the Prime Minister's Department (Law and Institutional Reform) M. Kulasegaran.

The PSA is designed to allow Parliament to operate as an independent entity, managing its own affairs, appointing its staff, and controlling its expenditures.

Its repeal had previously stripped Parliament of these autonomous powers.

Addressing concerns about the Madani government's commitment to reform, Kulasegaran said that significant changes were underway, despite public perception to the contrary.

"I can assure you it is all happening but it is a matter of time because the government has to do necessary consultations, not only locally but also externally and with many parties which takes time," he said during his speech at the Retail Conference organised by the Malaysia Retail Chain Association (MRCA) today (July 12).
