APPARENTLY, the popular millennium band, Green Day has announced their concerts in Malaysia and Indonesia, but not in Singapore.

X users find it awkward as Singapore is typically the place where concerts are held in Southeast Asia. This is especially true with the opposition party’s rejection of such events.

According to reports, Green Day will perform in Kuala Lumpur in February next year, marking their first-ever concert in Malaysia.

This will be their second Southeast Asian stop after Jakarta, where they will perform at Hammersonic’s 10th anniversary on February 15, 2025.

Green Day is scheduled to play at the National Hockey Stadium in Kuala Lumpur on February 18, 2025.

Live Nation members can access pre-sale tickets on September 26, while public sales start on September 27. Mastercard cardholders have special pre-sale access from September 24-26.

This tour follows their recent concerts in Japan. An X user says that this is against the rule of nature for concerts.

Typically, these bands would skip Malaysia and move on directly to Singapore. Or, in Coldplay’s case, they would have a longer time performing there.

However, some users state that it could be the political stance Green Day follows.

They added the discussion about Palestine and Israel and states that both Malaysia and Indonesia have been supportive of Palestine.

Other X users joked that Singapore has less land mass, which would mean that they would have less “green” areas. Meanwhile, Malaysia and Indonesia have a lot of green scenery.

Some users are concerned about the potential protests against the concert by the opposition supporters. It appears many are tired of concerts being used as a pawn for political sentiments. - Aug 25, 2024
