KOTA KINABALU: The Sabah Malaysia My Second Home (Sabah MM2H) programme will begin today with its newly-reviewed criteria to attract more foreign participants.

The secretariat for the programme, under the State Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Environment, said the new criteria is aimed at participants from countries that have diplomatic ties with Malaysia.

It gives them options for different levels of financial commitment, the secretariat said here yesterday.

It will give participants the opportunity to live in Sabah with multiple entry visas for a minimum of 5+5 years and to own housing property with a minimum purchase price of RM600,000.

The government is confident the programme would result in a positive economic impact for the state, the secretariat said.
