Lets talk about the instincts of an outsider
3 perspectives.....management, business model and numbers for selections....and timing for entry / exit.
Number crunching is good.
but garbage in garbage out......if you are caught by Petron, Geshen, Genetec you know what I mean
The reliability and repeatability of numbers is subject to the law of GIGO, don't underestimate GIGO.
what is the point of developing models with 10 ratios, 20 tests....when the raw data all comes from the same source...the company accounts.. the law of GIGO will catch you .
watch out for GIGO, naugthy Gigo.
you need a businessman instinct for management and business models to act as first level of security guards.
no talk three talk four......
if you intend to built a portfolio......what should you buy....NOW.
I will buy a portfolio of opposites. A completely diversified portfolio because 2016 is going to be a tough year. No easy money.
Bornoil, AAX, Tguan, VS, KESM, RHB, Scientex
But no Mesdaq, no big surprises, nothing from the pure financial analysts types, nothing too ambitous.
You are supposed to survive 2016, not be a 2016 hero.
Pure financial sifus have a hard time already explaining a lot of interim results.

no mesdaq, no annualised EPS based on thin margins and a few million bucks survival level profits. like EG, Comintel .

The take away lesson is that the best risk reward for 2016 is the donkeys of 2015. The big winners of 2015 is not going to be the best for 2016 At best, the big winners of 2015 will give you some recovery from recent sell downs.
Expand your horizon to the donkeys of 2015.
The OG universe has some interesting propositions.
