Sarawak Consolidated Industries Berhad (SCIB) has successfully bagged three Engineering, Procurement, Construction and Commissioning (EPCC) contracts with a total of RM707.24 million in Abu Dhabi, Malaysia and Indonesia.

According to the SCIB Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and Managing Director Rosland Othman, these three projects secured will helps the company to strengthen their orderbook as well as their financial position. The latest projects also show that the company is diversifying geographically as two of the projects are located outside of Malaysia.

There are two out of three projects come from the subsidiaries of Serba Dinamik Holdings Berhad and are considered as recurrent related-party transactions (RRPTs) as Serba Dinamik;s Group Managing Director cum CEO and major shareholder Datuk Dr Mohd Abdul Karim Abdullah is also SCIB’s chairman and major shareholder.

For the first project, it will be commencing in October 2020 until September 2024, worth US$145 million or RM607.77 million. The job involves enabling works, infrastructure, as well as landscaping the hybrid mall, management and sales offices for Phase 1 in Abu Dhabi. While for the second contract, it involves piling works for a strata project in Pengerang Johor that will also start in October and will be complete by May next year, worth RM43.88 million.

Meanwhile, SCIB was also awarded an earthworks job for a toll road construction project in Prabumulih, Muara Eniim in Indonesia from PT Cipta Multi Sarana. The seventh-month contract will start to commence in October worth US$13.26 million or EM13.26
