Mr Richard Lim was admitted as an associate of The Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales in 1985 and upon returning to Malaysia in 1986; he joined the Malaysian Institute of Accountants as a Registered Accountant.
Working Experience
Mr Richard Lim has extensive experience in auditing, accounting, finance, corporate finance, business development and general management. He started his career in the United Kingdom in 1978 at Mercer & Hole, Chartered Accountants as an Audit Junior and when he left the firm to return to Malaysia he was a Personal Assistant to a Senior Partner. Upon his return to Malaysia in 1986, he joined Hong Leong Group Malaysia as an Assistant Accountant attached to Hong Leong Industries Bhd (HLI). He then served as an Accountant under various companies under HLI and when Hong Leong Group Malaysia acquired O.Y.L Industries (OYLI) in 1990, he was transferred to OYLI as the Group Financial Controller. He left OYLI in 1997 but during his stint at OYLI, he was also involved in business development and general management having assisted in setting up various joint-venture companies in Malaysia and throughout Asia. He was also stationed in Jakarta, Indonesia for 2 years in order to set up an air-conditioner manufacturing plant in Jakarta and to organise the marketing network. Since leaving OYLI and prior to joining Lingkaran Trans Kota Holdings Berhad, he has been with various organisations handling finance and corporate development matters. He was appointed as the Group Financial Controller of LITRAK Group on 1 May 2001 and was made Chief Operating Officer on 1 September 2003.
