Datuk Tiong began his career as a fishmonger and has been involved in the seafood industry for the past thirty(30) years and in the poultry industry for the past ten(10) years. He is the founder member of the CCK group. He was appointed as Executive Chairman to the board of CCK on 15 July 1997. He also sits on the board of the other companies in the CCK group as Chairman. Under his stewardship, the CCK group has progressed from a small family-run business to one of Sarawak's largest integrated poultry producer and producers of frozen seafood.

Datuk Tiong is the father of Mr.Tiong Chiong Hiiung who is the Managing Director of the Company and also Mr. Tiong Chiong Soon who is one of the Executive Directors of the Company.
