LLC has set me into my daydreaming mode. MBSB paid 8.5 sen dividend for FY2022. Assume everything remains the same as FY 2022, add contributions from MIDF, the FY2013 dividends should be wonderful.

Dividends 8.5 sen for FY 2022 announced on 20/3/23 and paid 31/3/23. Anticipating a decent dividend payout for FY 23.

Banks and ownerships of banks in Malaysia are controlled and regulated. Deals are not as straight forward as it appears. I think Affin wil be better off with the "new shareholders"

My simple reasoning. Assuming the deal is done. All official state financial transactions will use the services of Affin. All State owned enterprises will have an account with Affin. All State employees salary will be debited into their Affin Bank account. All Sarawak friendly private companies are encouraged to use the services of Affin. Do you think these increased activities will generate additional profits? Do you think Affin will need to increase its capital? Rights, Bonus Issues and Sweeteners. I don't know. I am holding onto my shares.

Your premise "UMNO will not allow LTAT to sell their controlling interest in Affin." As such you think, at the very best Sarawak will only invest in Affin.
1)BPlant. It was a Bersatu MPs that objected to the deal on LTAT selling their stakes to Non Malays.
2) Why should Sarawak invest in Affin? There are so many other Banks they can choose to invest. And Sarawak doesn't need to invest in Banks in order for the Banks to set up Branches in Sarawak.

My reading, the leaders in Sarawak want a controlling interest in a Bank. It is strategic and fits in with their grand design to consolidate the economic activities, develop and sustain the development of the state.

I think the price is not an issue. Can Sarawak get consent from the Finance Minister to hold a stake, a comfortable stake whereby Sarawak can determine how the bank operates.

Compounding effect. Capital outlay and dividends combined will grow to double in 10½ years. Possible windfall from price appreciation. 😁

No stress. How many people earn more than 6% in the market? Old school people place money in Bank. Bank make 7% and pay depositors 2%. New school people buy Bank shares and let the banks pay them 7%.
