REITs movement will be slow and actually this way is the best. The low Hektar share price is actually a bonus. Reits investors are usually group of investors which are not so much for the capital gain but on the yearly dividend yield. So a low share price translate into higher yearly dividend which is a much better a once off capital gain.

Come to think about it, I should have sell before the EX date. I have slightly more than 200000 Shares of Hektar which after dividend entitle me to about 15000 Hektar shares. before Ex date the price is at around 80 cts. Now the price is around 70 cts. If I have sold all my 200K Hektar and now repurchase them, I stand to have RM 20,000 gain. The new shares I gain @15000 at 70 cts gross me slightly above RM 10,000 effectively I have make less 10K . So some of the advisors here suggest us to see before the Exdate is correct here. Should have listen to you

It will be interesting to know how YTL Reits are faring this coming results announcement. They and Hektar are almost in the same sector. If they do well this confirm the sector are doing well.

Before Hektar use to be paying 2.6 to 4 cts div every Q. Then last few years about averaging 2.3 to 2.8 cts every Q before it crashes due to Covid.

how did you get 5.3 cts x 2?

Hektar pay div half yearly now so I assume they will pay another one around mid year so that is why x2. Maybe a bit less in mid year but should be around there looking at the current results

is this reit worthy to buy at 0.805? dont want a scenario where, buy now, after dividend payout, the price crashes..
At 5.3 cts x 2 times yearly div which roughly translate to about 13 % or let us conservatively say 9%, at 80 cts there about should be an attractive div stock and rated a good buy

Writing off the debt off the book value will be positive for any company. You wake up on day and suddenly realized you do not owe anyone any more money. Isn't it a good thing ?. It is a start of a new life

An example is the REITs NTA now. Many REITS have NTA high on almost twice the value of their stock prices. But yet of the stock are low. Why, because the important point to note is their PE. A good PE and eventual the NTA will turn positive after the revaluation of the asset. Do not write it off yet ?. The creditor agreeing to convert their debt to 4 cts par value should not be taken lightly. It is certainly something brewing for sure.

If next Q results are positive then it will be interesting to watch at what level next it will settle. Many companies have negative NTA but they are trading better if the results are positive. What to watch is if the PE is positive or not ?. Positive PE recovery stock always rally.

Think some sort of an agreement have been made and will provide support around this price. Otherwise why would the debtor accept the offer in the 1st place. But meantime do not expect the price to move too much northwards, otherwise they will dump the 900mil shares and take their money back. Must wait till this batch is cleared first
