If you do not use "ass" in your writing to me, I would be more happy and much appreciated.

Mr. KL Lim: I agree with you this time despite that I did not agree with you many times, but I strongly believe you respect disagreement, don't you? I would express my deepest respect to your good intention in writing many comments. You have my respect although i have many contradict opinions with yours. Nice to meet you. Thks.

tan teng boo can make you poor if you put his advises aside.
......................................................

Hi Mr DeepMarine: I also cannot agree with your word "CAN". In this aspect, I see him doing his job, giving his advice free of charge but I do not agree that he can make me rich or poor. If it is so simple, there is no beggar on the streets already.

Mr DeepMarine: although I respect and want to support your courage to voice out your strong support to Mr TTB in the anti-TTB atmosphere, there are few areas I have to say I disagree with you.

You said: "only mr tan can lead us lead icap, 4Dec 9.41pm". I afraid I totally cannot agree with you on this stm. There are higher mountains after the highest mountain.

Hi Mr Deepmarine: I agree that if following TTB advice, we may not make big money from the last couple years but at least we will not broke. And if anybody want to play safe as TTB advocates, it is fine. You may have lesser return than the broad market for the moment, but at the same time you earn a bigger chance to win big in the upcoming bear. It is a game base on your own appetite. We live in a free mkt, we should not be forced or coerced to see things in one angle only. The world is created with plentiful colors.

Deepmarine: you have my vote.

My view is that TTB repeatedly pointed out a very simple and typical behavior of share market. But the timing is somehow not on his side yet although the historical trend is. Because of this many people ridicule him.

Do you agree that when fingers point to someone, there are always three point back to ourselves? 3>2, therefore when I say TTB is lousy, in fact I am lousier than him. Unfortunately I and many others do not realize that.

I listen to both sides and many sides of voices and concile them into data bank which can be used as reference when making own judgement.

For the 29 qtrs, there was only one qtr with negative growth on revenue which was Q1FY11.

OK, I need to off for today. It is very nice talking to you and Firebird. Bye, good luck.

The latest qtr's net margin is 8.5%, its lowest since Q2 2007.

Latest qtr : rev grows 4.4% while net margin drops 30%.

One qtr does not represent the whole year, nevertheless I wish the mgt work harder and find a way out.

I hope so or even lower than 1.90 so that the yield will be higher than 6.5%

Hi Stock: if the profit margin is sustained then top and bottom lines will move parallel. My worry is that its margin is shrinking for the last consecutive qtrs. Furthermore the current biz environment is not in favor to grow the margin. The mgt did mention that the company need to let go some margin to grow sales such as bundle sales.

If you are looking for high growth and relatively steady company, how about my favorite Mahsing.
Its CEO has internal goal to grow 20% on sales each year. Its CEO has personal aim to grow big as Cheung Kong(Hong Kong). Its yield is not bad too at 4% on RM2.30. My yield from MahSing is 7%.

Firebird2 : My main reason buying into Padini is for its consistent and high div yield with the fact that its growth rate is relatively lower but steady. I do not expect Padini to demonstrate high growth, thus expecting high capital gain from Padini is unrealistic.

Welcall gives about 5% div yield. Margin interest is 4.8%. You can net in 0.2% plus the high potential growth in its biz and subsequently share price and your capital. Beautiful.

I like dividend and I am building a portfolio with high div yield so that I can have passive income each month. Getting old, need to build passive income.

Stock : I do not wait for -30% to buy more. I bought when it is -10%. I bought Padini at 1.90 and then 1.70. The next entry price would be 1.50. Or maybe today on, I should follow you waiting for -30%.

2 of my criteria are growth prospect and high dividend. In term dividend both are quite equal or maybe Padini is slightly higher, but on growth prospect, Welcall is well ahead judging from its very low cost of raw materials, weakening RM vs USD, capacity expansion, and high demand from customers. On the other hand, Padini is facing high uncertainty on GST, lower margin, higher cost, higher competition from new players and significantly affected spending sentiment due to high inflation. Although I listed few challenges facing Padini, it does not mean Padini cannot get thru with them. Time will tell. The plus point of Padini is that it is selling much cheaper than Welcall.

Firebird2 : Yes, I have invested significant amount into Padini mainly for its high dividend. But if you ask me which one I like more between Welcall and Padini, I would very honestly to say it is Welcall. However, Welcall does not want to marry me but Padini does, so I married with Padini loh. This is life which will not behave exactly in the way you want it to be.

Hi Firebird2 : are you the one who i communicated thru Welcall ?

I have waited Welcall for years. One of the counter which I wait for big correction to collect in big amount is Welcall. Unfortunately, it is so stubborn at its high price. I have no luck to get it. I hate this, as I know its biz very well and I study it for long enough, but the timing (price) is not for me. Sigh !!!

With the very low price on NRL and significant expansion on its capacity, I foresee its earning to grow higher and higher.

LPI is a result of luck and the great name of Tan Sri Teh HP.

In fact not many long term counters give me good return. Most of them are much lesser than market return such as CIMB, Gent, GenM.

One of my favorite and the highest weightage in portfolio is Mahsing which ironically is not the favorite counter of most of the forumers and analysts. Total return is 92%. Duration: 40% of capital was invested in 2009 and another 60% in 2012-13.

Talking about the real "sleep well" investment, I rate LPI as number #1. Since I bought LPI 5 years ago, I seldom look at its share price but only the qtrly report(sometime I also forget about it) and the half yearly dividend(never forget). A share which can comfort you till you do not look at its share price is the share which I classify as the real "sleep well" counter. I cannot find many of this kind of counters?

Let me open my score cards with assumption that I have limited fund and I need to choose ONE only in between Padini and LPI :

1) What kind of Business that you really really would like to own? LPI is A+, Padini is A-.
2) Are you really really comfortable with the Business? : LPI is A+, Padini is B+.
3) Can you sleep well at night and smile yourself to sleep Owning this Business? : LPI is A+, Padini is B+.
4) Do I really really understand its Business? : LPI is A, Padini is A.
5) IS it recession proof? : LPI is B, Padini is C.
6) Consumer Business? : LPI is B-, Padini is B+.
7) Does it have a strong Brand? : LPI is A, Padini is B.

With the above, I conclude Padini does not score very high mark. But it is still a close A company.

I want to learn : cost of crude oil is $75-80/barrel ? Why ?

Hope someone can generously enlighten me.

Q: Years ago, crude oil was around usd40/barrel, yet Petronas made tonne of money for Mahathir’s government to development the country. What was the cost/barrel then ? Since when the cost escalates up to $75-80/barrel ? And why ?

In industry arena, products cost are contained or increased moderately along the years thru many initiatives on cost control. As of why cost of crude oil increases so significantly to the magnitude of >100% ? TQ

Hi Stock : I cannot agree more with your criteria in investment.

Nevertheless, although I have heavy vested interest in Padini, I would chose to fairly voice out my opinion that our beloved Padini does not score very high mark on these set of criteria. Certainly, this is a very personal centric type of judgment and judgment of each one would be in wide variety.

There is no advantage for me to involve into the hot argument. However i beg for yr pardon allowing me to "buzy body". Base on my experience, buying into Bonia now with your rationale such as "Director's support" and "not terrible free fall along with Index" is a act of Risk > Return. In fact I think "Mr Walau2u" has pointed out very insightful points for consideration. I agree and like his comments.

Personally I would not buy Bonia now even at 0.75. Nevertheless in share market, anything can happen, and Bonia may rebounce soon to 1+, and you maybe bag home with 20+% profit in weeks. This is the beauty charm of the market. But some money is not for me to earn if I want to survive in the market for long term. Good luck.

many properties counters dropped significantly along with the correction of KLCI. But why not our beloved tortoise Mahsing? There must be a good reason behind it, isn't it?
Those who like to critic the sleeping tortoise movement of Mahsing, why don't you critic for its slow drop as well?

In fact, I have prepared fund waiting for its big drop along with the Index so that I can buy more to take double advantages on the panic selling and the discount from the upcoming Right issue. Unfortunately, it dropped like tortoise. Will it catch up the significant "Drop" in the next few days?

If you fly on Monday to Bkk and back to M'sia on Friday, you will surprise to see many biz persons and technical talents in the same fly, contributing themselves to the growth of economy of Thailand.

We are very very generous nation. In south we help S'pore in building their nation; in north we help Thailand in building their nation.

In west, do we help Indonesia building the country? I have only five technical friends working in Jakarta and Medan. The data is too small for me to comment. Do you have more data?

My calculation is slightly different fr yours. Here it is for your comment.

If div is paid qtrly, it would be adjusted down to much lower than 5 cents/qtr.

If eps is 40 cents now, it would be 20 cents after 1;1 bonus issue. If div pay out is 60%, then yearly div would be 12 cents=3 cents/qtr.
After bonus issue, the estimated yield would be 0.12/2.3=5.3% the best.

If earning increases next year, case would be different.
