2day SHORTies lose BIG$$$ on 3 fronts: YTL, gloves & Genting...HALLELUYAHHHH!!!👰

I smelt the garbage back in 2015 when the Jho LOW/Najisss shennanigans started to leak & fortunately started to buy S$ indirectly by funneling RM into undervalued S'pore shares like Straits Trading.[the rate was still 2.70 back then] Now I'm funneling spare RM into yen while it's still cheap!
Going back to my earlier point: for instance, Nomura in Japan has paid me ¥42,673.03 in cumulative dividends since 2018 despite my entry at inopportune prices & long periods of paper losses having to weather the Archegos debacles etc., on an investment of under ¥300,000. If I sell it today, the net capital gains(disregarding dividends) will be ¥7,000 or so but since the stockmarket there is very active this year, I choose to hold on since Nomura's NTA is over ¥1,000 & the dividends have been coming regularly for decades!

dragon, the all-time high S$ rate was 3.5319 on 13th Dec, yesterday. Now @ 3.5058. Am doing my best to hold on to whatever shares I have here, but I'm balancing it against needing to earn dividends from other companies that are paying them out in the meantime, with 2nd & 3rd liner Japanese companies having the edge in terms of annual %dividend yield so far.

Yesterday price pullback was a healthy correction. Best to look at YTL for it's potential exponential growth in earnings and it's re rating by IB's and funds after YTL inclusion in tge FTSE Bursa KLCi 30 list not forgetting the MSCI top 30 index list for Malaysia. It indirectly opens up investment opportunity for large foreign funds looking for earnings & growth opportunity in the emerging market in this part of SE Asia. The expected US Fed interest rate cut in early part of next year plus the gradual recovery of the ringgit vs the USD will be the one of the few catalysts . Our MYR is at its 28 year low { 4.7 } vs the USD since the last Asian Financial crisis 30 years ago in 1996/1997. Prior to that the Ringgit was traded around 2.5 prior to the speculative currency attack initiated by George Soros that started with the Thai Baht, followed by the Indonesia Rupiah, Korean won, Malaysia ringgit and covert attack on the HK dollars. The ringgit fell from 2.6 to 4.00 before capital control was imposed on the Ringgit at 3.8 vs the USD. Historically at that times Asian economies was weak and vulnerable plus high exposure to USD denominated loans. 28 years much has changed. The much stronger economy and the emergence of China, India, South Korea, Taiwan as world's economic power house has tilted the balance. Look at the bigger picture our economy, equities and currency are now beginning thier long awaited uptrend.

Much as I wish this scenario to materialize, the probability is less than 50% becos of ENDEMIC CORRUPTION & economic mismanagement, with a backward education system perpetuating a debt-guzzling oversized family mentality dependent on revenue-consuming subsidies. I'm shifting more & more of my spare depreciating local fiat currency into a still cheap Japanese yen to buy more & more reliable companies there with solid managements, 10x more transparent reporting, fueled by their policies like NISA which will drive hoarded trillion$ in zero-yielding cash eventually into Tokyo shares to provide a 2nd wind to the Nikkei's ascent back to its 38,944.57 record in 1989.

Reluctantly leaked another 48 units into the odd lot mkt above $1.81, earning more starbuck$ $$ & securing a record 833 consecutive sessions of trading gain$ 🤗

Glad it didn't shoot straight up to $2.11...Chance of dropping back to $1.50 is not negligible...

Once lao qian, ALWAYS LAO QIAN! Thank goodness 97% of my 2018-2023 long position exited above 34c & 79% of the dividend shares over the years, maximising the monetised dividend, leaving only minimal holdings & the free warrants! Last time kana trapped by laoqian, now ride the wave, then step off right @ the peak day!👍

Those with short position trying to talk the stock down so they can cover without losing their pants. Those with long position talking stock up so they can buy low sell high. Simple.

Checked all my records since I traded Hexza for the 1st time ever in '14. Admittedly sold too early back then & the max position was always <10k shrs but the total capital gains is $1,867.77 so the CG/Div ratio is roughly 60/40 which at least trumps de facto inflation since dividends alone fall short.

That's why I hold minimal stake as often as possible, even in the most well-run & solid companies, coz M'sians in general & Bursa are KOYAK when it comes to their reliability in generating daily income for me. Sold down to ZERO KLK several weeks back & only odd lots of PPB above $16 some months ago, & yes I only have 200 Petron left[costing me $4.58 btw], which on hindsight proved right for me since most of my sales were above $5 in '22 & '23. Pity the friend who lost his bet with me on the direction of the shr price by 9 cents & then illogically bought back what he sold 20 cents cheaper just b4 the dividend( I suspect so that the dividend would pay for the treat he was forced to give me) & is now stuck @ $4.93 until dunno when...😆 A stock that earned 30 cents last qtr only went up 3 cents on the news...the faithless & the poor cannot initiate a bull market!

Now, the price is higher than nearly 70% of my purchases since '21!📈 Shorties, with the last few days average shorted price being 95-97.5c, are losing pants & underwear...🤣

At SYM's closing price, the paper gain on just the recently purchased 300k shrs (the disclosures seem to imply that they bought more in Apr & Aug) is over 10c per shr.
