u r so bearish.

had a look at kim lun.
very decent company and worth a punt.
hopefully it will do a corp exercise soon or at least wait for gadang to run first, then let me unwind and switch.
really no idea why anyone wants to buy into parkson/lion group when there r better options out there.

@kelvin62/ kelvin61,
at the rate parkson is going, u may even get it at 0.5 in the coming few months.

@ks55
i buy in during the corp exercise becos technically it looks good.
but like @larrytrader said, i only recently did a fa and realized that it is a well-managed company with decent story.

this company has no property developments, no malls, nothing at all but only landbank (of questionable value) in jb.
so does it deserve even its current valuation???
even jb-based ksl has a mall to manage.

if want to punt, can try vizione warrants as well.

@albukhary,
yes, ssteel is a very safe bet considering that it has hong leong's outlets.
a more speculative bet will be masteel.
becos of the risks of chinese steel production being ramped up again and selling into sea, i m steering clear of local steel stocks for the time being.
however, it is a different story for us steel stocks.

@leoting,
looking at the financials and the operational efficiency of making losses in the past 5 yrs, do u think the company is a sustainable profit making concern???
if this company is being valued rationally, do u think it is worth 1.17, considering its inefficiency and past losses????
unfortunately, mkt doesnt behave rationally at all times, if it does, then there will be not transmile or fgv.

bn was most likely going to lose the election a few months ago but now, bn will most likely scrap thru and win a small majority.
bn must thx pakatan harapan joining hands with dictator m, thus alienating a lot of city hardcore opposition supporters while not actually making rural inroads.
if dictator m still commands influence, he will have been able to bring in at least 10-20 mps to change the balance of power or keep his son in power as kedah mb. but he is unable to.
thus, the opposition has proven themselves to be politically inept and naive.

the mkt needs jokers like @shafiawong and @sharemakers.
anyone trusting their simple comments do so at their own risks.

@ivan9511
i believe u bought into the spin story of indo-chinese expansion, much like the china story.
but if one think carefully beyond the spin, one will know that the ibs' reports r bs.
firstly, the indo-chinese population is only at most a fifth of china. thus limiting the potential customer base of the china high-end model that parkson is trying to capture.
secondly, the level and amount of high end affluence in indo-china is still way behind china at a similar stage of development.
thirdly, indo-chinese consumers r a different animal from the chinese. so a 1-size-fits-all approach doesnt work there.
and fourthly, consuming trends and patterns have changed over the yrs. chinese consumers have moved online in their purchase of luxury products or buying from bricks-and-mortar, they will buy it from the concept/specialty stores. malaysian consumers r now very much focused on day-to-day basic groceries (ie aeon) and if they want higher quality fashion, they will buy from either specialty stores or isetan.
china is officially a gone case while in malaysia, no one actually shops there anymore.
nothing short of a radical shakeup will save parkson from its current mess.

@ks55,
i m not sure abt u but for me,
i buy groceries at my nearby aeon.
i buy my electronics either at low yat or harvey norman.
i buy my fashion at isetan.
i walk past the parkson in pavilion kl almost everyday but havent went in for donkey yrs.

@ivan9511,
my 2 sen on parkson is that the management was complacent during the good time, betting on forever expanding in china and failed to pace with the consumers' trends both here plus china while over at aeon, the japs r moving in step with changing times.

@investoroem,
if a ib's report can be trusted, then why do we still do our own research???
and u really believe the bs by @moneygamer???
first he/she/it tells me that he/she/it is certain that the software he/she/it use can tell what percentage of fund flow r from banker, but when i confronted him/her/it, he/she/it is not able to give me a answer.
MoneyGamer Yes, my analysis does not tell who are the buyers/sellers. But my sharing gives investors a different perspective based on past trends of bankers movement in a stock. If there is strong bankers presence, there is more likelihood of price uptrend than those stocks without bankers. Sometimes, a low volume stock with strong bankers presence could be explained that big funds are in collection mode. But then again, I might be wrong. What I m very sure of is that there are plenty of bankers support in this stock.

joetay @moneygamer,
based on what can u say there is a strong banker's presence??? and this is what u said a few days ago:
Lee0525, I use the Homily software to track the % of bankers, institutions and retailers chips within a stock on a daily basis. It can also tell the trends of outflow and inflow funds into the stock. So, if a stock has over 75% bankers chips and continuous strong inflow funds, there is very high probability the stock price will move up. On the other hand, if a stock has higher % of retailers chips than bankers & coupled with ongoing outflow funds, the stock price is either going south or sideways.
12/07/2017 07:31
back then u were telling me u know the % of bankers etc.
and now u r telling me that u r basing the strong bankers' presence on price movements, so what r u trying to said????
26/07/2017 09:09
so tell me, is the info trust-able then???

@veln82k6,
u r rite. time will tell how lion ind will perform. but seeing it as a lion-related counter, dont inspire much confidence in me.
@zeftan,
lion ind is guarantor of lioncor means lion ind is still on the hook and even if lion ind is not the guarantor, lion ind is still on the hook by virtue of being related to lioncor. and lioncor is not in the best of financial state.

lion ind is making loses for the past 5 yrs.
this says alot abt lion ind's operational efficiency.

if the debt liabilities r too high, the interest servicing alone will kill off any profitability unless the steel prices r very high or iron ores price very low.

looking at the small up after the massive falls in the past few days and despite the news that wanda might not come in, i dont think iwc has a high chance of getting the project like @sharemakers promote by looking at how the price is moving.
if iwc has a high chance of getting the deal done, the upside today would have been at least 0.2, rather than a paltry 0.05
