biodiesel is more expensive to produce compared to normal crude oil processing.
weather conditions in china during late autumn-winter-early spring is not suitable for palm-based biodiesel.
2017-08-24 09:00 | Report Abuse
really, stupidity dont have cure and u just show it.
the melting point of cpo at ard 35dc has alrdy mean that it is not suitable for use in cold weather. thus even after processing, palm-based diesel will still solidify ard 16dc. the only way ard it is to use additives.
secondly, biodiesel has a bigger atom size compared to diesel and therefore higher viscosity. this will result in increased engine wear and tear.

use ur brains for once.
if it cannot take off in mal and indon, whats the chances of it taking of in china????
there is the technical aspects of whether a diesel vehicle can take the biodiesel and also whether the biodiesel will congregate under low temperature.

in a way yes and no.
the important cards r in the hands of the banker, players r only having limited info.
bplant may choose to walk away like ioi or if it goes thru with the deal and finds something serious down the road, it will be on the heads of bplant board. bplant's lodin, being a cautious man, will not allows such a misstep to taint his records.
so, i m taking a 50/50 view on this deal.
anyway, we will look at mkt reaction tom and have a clearer picture. one day is too short to make a call.

do u think a biodiesel program can take off in china if it cannot even take off in mal and indon????
2017-08-23 23:57 | Report Abuse
@apolloang,
exactly, now the focus is on the recent disposal by dutaland.
and @thecontrarian has good reasons to be cautious on this loi transaction as ioi backed out of buying this same piece of land, 3mths after inking the s&p.
so safer to be cautious.

@ks55,
i stay far away from lion-related counters.
reason: i never like the way lion group was run after i met them during a parkson presentation in 2008.
they gave me a too optimistic china projection, a biz model which is easily copied and the way how the malaysian ops r run gave me reasons to be wary of their china ops. thats why i did not buy any parkson bhd shares in 2008 or participated in pra 2010 ipo bookbuilding.
in hindsight, it was the correct move.
2017-08-23 17:55 | Report Abuse
with dutaland,
tun @calvintaneng just proves the logic of his diversification strategy and that is as long as one buy a large numbers of counters, there will be one that generates returns.
despite him being bullish on plantation, the plantation index is slightly lower from a yr ago, only 1% up from the beginning of the yr and down almost 2% from last mth.
2017-08-23 17:35 | Report Abuse
@ks55,
u think parkson will be delisting soon, like lion corp????

@stock kingdom,
and tun @calvintaneng also promoting property stocks as well. if u noticed his statements lately, all r very contradicting. one minute tell us that property developments r booming and next he tell us his tenants not doing well.
do note the contradiction in his statement that f&b counters will be earning less due to weaker purchasing power and higher ingredient costs while pure play cpo counters will be up becos palm prices have not gone up.
if there is no increased demand by end-consumers, how can the price for ingredients go up???
really is the biggest puzzle in i3.
@unicorn,
thats what i always say to fund managers who promote stocks to me. got one lady fund manager telling me to buy pure play crude oil counters early this yr becos of opec cuts, i told her how abt the low cost shale crudes in us???? she cannot answer me and tell me as that costs of shales crudes production ard usd60/bbl, crude oil prices only will go up. i can only just laugh.

@shortinvestor77,
u also betting that the merger will failed????lol....
the minute i saw ambank falling past 5, i knew the merger has 80% chance to fail.
if banker managed to goreng it to 6, maybe can pass but when the price went lower to below 5, confirm share swap is failed.
so now, just need to sit back, watch am rise back and collect my dues.
the aussies r not that dumb to sell back cheap.

@thecontrarian,
must be a very serious issue that no one dares touch it after so many yrs.
it pays to be extra careful on agri-land purchases, u never know what u will get into.
2017-08-22 21:37 | Report Abuse
@hollandking,
if it is a simple case of extreme ph levels on both sides of the scale, just have to stop fertilizing for a while (perhaps a few mths) to let the land naturally achieve balance.
anything more serious like land/environmental degradation, cleanup costs and rehabilitation time+costs will be entailed.
2017-08-22 21:28 | Report Abuse
@hollandking,
i m not land surveyor, but if a piece of land is excessively fertilized, it will damage the soil with the most common being extreme ph levels on both sides of the scale.
but if it is so serious as to void a agri-land s&p, most likely the soil and environment of the land concerned r significantly degraded.
2017-08-22 21:17 | Report Abuse
@thecontrarian,
if the deposit is returned, that means it is dutaland at fault.
2 possible reasons: either it is not free from encumbrances or like u said, land surveying by ioi turns up something so serious that ioi has to cancel the deal.
2017-08-22 21:13 | Report Abuse
@calvintaneng,
the disposal is at loi stage and not done deal, so bplant can cancel it anytime.
and by the way u talked, i can tell u dont even know where their estates r. allow me to rebut u point by point.
1. bplant's valuable estates r in kulai, balau and bukit mertajam (which they have sold).
2. bplant as of last financial rpt is in net debt position of rm400m. after netting their recent sales and purchase, they will still be holding borrowings of rm500m, so where is the surplus cash u r talking abt???
bplant cannot venture into other biz becos property development is carried out by the parent while o&g by bhic.
3. if iskander is booming, then how come the high end apartments in medina still empty, senai/kulai still quiet and kota masai not booming????
and how sure r that pan-borneo highway will create a boom??? where r they going to find ppl to stay there, just like how forest city going to find 700k ppl to stay there???
that aside, if u noticed, ur pt 1, 2 and 3 r contradictory.
in pt 1 and 3, u said that bplant's land in peninsular r precious and that the property development is booming. yet in 2, u said it is risky to go into property development.
2017-08-22 20:44 | Report Abuse
@thecontrarian,
i have to agree with u that this is not positive for bplant.
bplant is in net debt position of rm500m currently, so to finance this acquisition, the money from their previous disposal will most likely be used up for this deal, so most likely have to do financing.
on bplant's previous land purchase under boustead group, they signed a conditional s&p while this deal is done under a loi. so its not a done deal.

sometimes mkt is boring so always fun to expose jokers like @calvintaneng and push him to the brink of breakdown.
@3iii,
best analysis i seen on a investor psychology so far.
just to add on, given the minuscule 5% of his fund that @calvintaneng claims to be putting into klse vs the high risk/return stocks that he is promoting currently, this seems to be in direct dilemma with his investment logic.
really is the greatest puzzle of i3.

@calvintaneng,
dont be a joke.
the main driver for timber exports to japan will still be home construction.
tokyo olympics is only an add-on bonus. how big it is, no one knows since only the centrepiece stadium is confirmed to be using timber as part of its roofing.
can u tell me with 100% certainty that all the facilities will be using timber for roofing etc?
even better, can u tell me why jtiasa and wtk r having lower share price compared to early this yr despite posting better results????

so dont be a joker and tell me that this whole stadium is going to be build on timber.
only the roofing of the stadium will be using wood.

its actually quite fun to embarrass @calvintaneng in the forum.
now i just shown that @calvintaneng failed his basic english comprehension with a simple phrase of '.... not selling at all."
and he is foolish enough to understand it as meaning no sales at all. any trader worth his salt will know that this means that the sales figures r no good.

i stated that some property launches by ecoworld/uems/ms in mount austin area is not selling at all.
if u ever drive by ecoworld eco spring development, it is still pretty much empty despite being largely completed mid last yr.
so there, this is the best proof on the ground rather than listening to ur bs.
i really doubt u even been to the grounds and the stories u spinned here to hide the fact that u have been exposed as a joke.
u dont even argue on sense anymore, just only know insulting after being exposed.

@calvintaneng,
u just cant accept the fact that u have been exposed as a joke with ur lack of knowledge in basically all sectors, starting with ur drought story.
if the property sales r as good as u claimed, then why is ms/uems/spsetia/ecoworld stock prices either substantially off or unchanged from their highs in 2013-2014???
u really enjoyed being embarrassed by me here???
name me 1 sector that u have talked sense of and not being rebuked by other forummers????

after factoring fees of ard 2%/yr and his average performance of ard 6.5% gain/yr for the past 10 yrs, chief joker ttb's net gain is 4.5%/yr, abt 1.5% higher than average mgs 1yr or 1-1.4% higher than malaysian banks' 1 yr fd rates over the same time period.

for someone who supposedly made a 100% profit in a year yet boast abt having an annualized 280% profit (based on a 10% gain in 2 weeks), u r a funny one, since no one will boast of such a minute return on penny stocks.
and by refusing to comment my analysis on the or, u have given the impression that u r plucking the figures from the air.
since u like to boast, u shld have boasted abt the mbsb, not duta. so we just exposed the dilemma of ur human nature.

2017-08-18 23:30 | Report Abuse
@appolloang,
exactly.
by checking on past info, u can know who is joking and who is not.
acceptance for mbsb or is more than 100%, meaning most holders r exercising their entitlements, thus their average cost price will be ard 0.89 and for those lucky to buy ors, the or price will definitely be above 0.2 since exercise price of 0.59 is below theoretical of 0.89, so the px average of 0.68 as quoted by @chongyu is not possible unless he managed to con someone into selling the or @ 9c.
the only time that one can get mbsb @0.685 is during the drop in end jul16 but as @chongyu stated, he bot mbsb thru the or, so his cost is definitely higher than his stated 0.68 by theoretical calculation.

Stock 168,
I visited KL recently and discovered 2 things. As usual I saw many many cars in KL. So I parked the car and took taxi in KL. I asked the cab driver, "Where is the most convenient place to live in KL where you think you can move in and out freely?" He replied, "Mont Kiara." Immediately DUTALAND came to my mind.
Dutaland has high NTA, defensive oil palm lands, a future Tourism Business in Hotel Grand Duta & prime land in Mt Kiara. Now with Duta Yap buying a further 168 Mil shares I think something might be brewing here soon.
Plus the Market has discovered Brem undervalued assets & CHHB also went limit up recently. I think it is only a matter of time before others discover laggard Dutaland as a deep value asset play.
Best Regards,
Calvin Tan from PM Corp & MUI Berhad forums
Note: The 2nd thing I discovered is the increasingly bright prospects of SILK Holdings. Silk will benefit from the growth of Kajang just like Litrak benefited from the Property Boom in Puchong
