Pak MC: Yup, there is no momentum now & the competition is very tense also in my opinion. If competition is tense, you might not be able to run when there is 1 sen or 0.05sen paper gain. You still need to follow the rules to queue & you'll be queuing with all those thinking alike - run after 1 sen or 0.05sen gain. Furthermore, your potential buyers might just walk away & buy the CWs from next door (other issuers) with so many options around. Anyway, never try never know, all the best Pak.

Pak MC: If you want to try your intention, try it in smaller size. Come back & share with us your successful rate later. I think most of us want to know the end result.

The "driver" to the current underlying share doesn't sound strong enough now in my opinion - not enough umph .

Furthermore, if you looks at the total volume traded for the mother share vs the total CWs, the volume of CWs traded out numbered the volume traded for mother share - not a good sign, not much people going after the underling share.

Avoid tense competition. Structured warrants obeys supply & demand law quite well, avoiding competition is one of the top priority unless the underlying can perform extra-ordinary ( with strong catalyst or strong umph ! )

There are still a lot parameters you might need to consider when picking ur SW.

Hustle : The formula to calculate the HA can be found here :http://www.amwarrants.com/wrp/main/calculator/calculator.jsp. It is at premium currently not discount at the moment. Your price for HA 0.2 & above might not be justified in my opinion unless you are trying to maintain certain % of premium.

assthrow: thumb up for you

In all these year when I trade SWs, I just got this feeling that my screen is being monitored by the IBs !! I don't know whether you guys got the same feeling or not ?

The issuers will pay the warrant holders the money if the structured warrants is in money during expiry. It is their obligation to pay. I received their cheque before, normally takes around 14 ~ 21 days after delisting. Not sure how many other have try to let the CW expired in money.

The low liquidity of HA is partly because short selling is banned in KLSE & partly because not many traders understand how the put warrant instrument work.

They will adjust the exercise price & ratio after the right issue - final exercise price & ratio is subjected to further announcement.

You can always refer to historical announcements of other CWs which are subjected to same exercise. The examples will be (just to name a few ) :

1)Previous Dialog-CC : http://www.bursamalaysia.com/market/listed-companies/structured-warrants/864084
2)Previous SPSetia-CC :http://www.bursamalaysia.com/market/listed-companies/structured-warrants/538630

It will be good if you are able to find out how traders react to these news base on historical records.

competition IHH-CWs is just to great. There are CA till CO ( 15 nos. ) of choices to pick. Not many traders willing to compete in a very competitive environment unless if the underling share can perform extra-ordinary.

Under notes A9. Segmental revenue & results : 3 out of the 4 main core businesses ( security printing, bulking & food ) are doing quite well, of course as expected the plantation business is expected to contribute less. Overall, Kfima still doing quite well versus the other plantation counters.

If really losing ground , then prepare to take advantage on those short term investors who invests on news (history)

Most of the time,90% of investors will react to news, a well discipline investor is ever ready for opportunity

kcchongnz ,so you was a contractor & in the industry loop before, good to hear that you .

I have been wondering & guessing in the past their competitive advantages that enable them to maintain such high net profit margin ( approx 30% ), after hearing from you explanation, it starts to make sense.

1) A strong "cable" Dr.Chiu to pick high profit margin jobs.
2) Offering design & build - ability to offer value engineering to ensure cost & time effectiveness for the construction work.

Most investors put more attentions to mid & big cap construction counters that are covered by news. Not many know the importance of the foundation & piling works for construction industry I'll say especially if there are not from this industry.

Unloved counter & low coverage from analysts. 2 thumbs up for your pick :)

People start to realize this counter also.

I got to know them because they are the pilling contractor - capable of doing bore pile ( cast in situ ) - one of the big name competing with Borneo Geotechnics, Bauer, Geo Pancar, SunGeo, etc

Paying good dividend & is getting better as the time past. No borrowing & sitting on pile of cash.

The only thing I dislike about this counter - the management is using the retained cash for investment purpose ( by appointing some fund managers to handle the cash - donno how good are those fund managers? )

My opinion - TDM portfolios not diversify enough to hedge any disaster to the CPO price....their healthcare contribution is promising but still weak currently...

Stock

2012-08-28 10:26 | Report Abuse

If you are short term striker you might be worry on the fluctuation of the earning report. If you treat your investment portfolio like managing a real business, worry on CPO price also no use - this is real economy, it is normal for CPO price to fluctuate.

Expecting 45 degree exponential graph again? Still early in the morning, lol :)

Good thing is, Kfima business portfolios don't rely fully on plantation. Steady income stream from ( security printing , bulking & property management) + ( potential growth of plantation sector ) quite a good combination for long term.

Value investor - invest on historical results, looking for good discount , buy & hold and expecting the company value to be unlocked in future.

Growth investor - invest in future , paying premium for P/E valuation & expecting the future earnings to catch up with the valuation.

Or combination of both...

It depends which type of investor are you
