Fundamentally this counter is not bad, can invest BUT got one problem only:-

Everytime price move up a bit , govt (i.e. MOF subs - UJSB) is selling ,Why they sell this counter, coz govt needs money to buy vaccines, give financial aids packages to business and rakyat affected covid 19 pandemic, stimulus packages here and there..where you think they are going to get money

So have to sell down this counter la, to raise cash. They are not going to sell other counters deemed loosing money ( cut loss is a no no for them, it will look bad when kena scrutinised in parliament), so this counter they sell since it will appear as profitable trade in their book

Its a reasonably good company, enjoy the dividend first lo, hopefully this year got, since last year takde, and hold as long long term investment lo.

if we think not suit your investment strategy, maybe you looking for 6 to 12 months price shoot up 50%, i think better look at other counters..coz MOF hold so many shares inherited from TH, by the time they clear, God knows how long it will take

There was a mention that similar irregularities on the receivables, etc. were highlighted by KPMG on the 2019 audit and that these needed to be addressed. SD did address them and almost doubled the receivables. I hope KPMG qualified the audit in the cover letter when submitting the signed 2019 AR. That should immediately stop any court case.

If they did not qualify, then another potential lawsuit agaist them, probably not from bilis, but some large funds who suffered loss in this saga..bilis can also join in

But as i see it, they probably qualified it. so dun place too high hopes

Helo Pharker, the irregulatrities seems started this 2 years. Dont blame auditor as audit have their own standards and guidelines. All i can say that you are being in denial in life. Whether you move on, or put your hopes on this company which is equivalent in believing Najib is innocent and free from corruptions.

First of all, I am not in denial. i already cut loss, paid the fees.

If irregularites started 2 years, then kpmg failed to detect or flag it in the first year.. second year ( or now) then flag..causing investor to rely on first year report and make investment decision.

I am not an auditor,so don't know whether the above is good ground for investor to sue kpmg,

please note that i am not siding with the management or SD, just exploring possibilities here

Since KPMG with them for 7 years, is there a possibility that in the previous audit cycles, there are also irregularities but they failed to detect ?

May be previous audit team not so experienced, this year team baru masuk, more experienced, detected irregularities, then flag

Assuming there is fraud, don't tell me all happen this year only, previous years all clean , then suddenly out of nowhere this year SD decided to do it, doesn't this kind of thing need planning, collusion?

if kpmg failed to detect irregularites in previous cycle, can investors now also sue kpmg ? On the basis that Investors rely on their report to make investment decision.

If you start to dig, you may open up more worms.

He is trying to contact SD for possible engagement if EY refuses.

Recently i tried to catch lower than 5, the window just opened for a while and closed very quickly.

KMPG is not a stranger when it comes to negligence issues. They have caused many clients with billions of losses too.

Mount Avil has sued them 6 million pound for negligence

Carillion has sued them 250 million pound for negligence

Fannie Mae sue them with malpractice for allowing years of erroneous financial statements

Financial Reporting Council fined them for £5 million for misconduct shortly after the takeover of the Britannia Building Society by The Co-operative Bank, particularly relating to the valuation of Britannia's commercial loans and other liabilities

Siemens demanded to change their auditor to EY after kpmg was investigated for ignoring questionable payment in the Siemens bribery case in Germany.

Look at the current fact just like what the chairman said. KPMG was negligence in doing their work, kept the company in a lurch for 59 days while raising flag for trivial issues. The statement was made clear with confidence in the pc. Which led them to taking legal action on KPMG. Chairman looks very adamant and unshakable when he even described KMPG as a shoplot auditor who behaves likes god and gangsters.
