Key observations of trends from the week ending 5 Feb 2021
1. Local institutional investors in the ninth week of their selling streak
They raised their net sells for equities by 249% wow to RM528m bringing YTD net sells to
RM1.9bn. They were selling both the financial services and healthcare sectors. The three key
net sells were Hartalega, Tenaga and Public Bank.
2. Foreign investors turned net buyer last week and were buying large glove makers
The top three stocks that attracted foreign buying were Top Glove, Hartalega and Supermax,
while stocks with highest foreign outflows were Public Bank, Telekom and MISC. YTD foreign
net sells fell to RM717m.
3. Retail investors remain largest net buyers but net buying momentum fell 64% wow
YTD net buy position by retail investors rose to RM1.98bn. Retail investors continued to favour
financial services, and sell the healthcare sector. Retail investors’ top three net buys during the
week were Public Bank, Tenaga and Iris.
4. Local nominees group were net buyers for fifth consecutive week
Their net buying momentum fell 33% wow to RM112m while YTD net buying rose to RM734m.
Nominees investors’ top three net buys during the week were Public Bank, Tenaga and FGV.
5. Public Bank, Telekom Malaysia and Top Glove dominated the top buy/sell lists
Foreign institutional investors were top sellers of Public Bank, while the retail and nominee
groups were its top buyers last week. Top Glove topped the net buy list of foreign institutional
investors but was on the top sell list for local retail and nominee investors. Telekom
Malaysia was on the top buy list for local institutional investors but was among the top
sells for foreign investors.

For those that say Foreign Investor/ funds keep shooting this counter or selling this counter, i do not where they got the source of info.

This is an extract from my CGS CIMB report for funds flow analysis as of 8 Feb 2021. i just copy and paste. In brief, it says foreign investors top buyer of gloves last week but retailers top seller of gloves---> retailers sell cheap to foreig funds..HAHAHA. Go have a look at the following report.

Just curious, what shares LKT use to top up pledge to bankers RHB and MBB? if only gen hk shares, then would not affect genm or gen bhd if the issue of cross default ever occur

In my opinion, while we try our best to fight covid 19, the battle will not be as easy as many would think. otherwise, US Biden would not ALL OuT, it just shows the challenging task.

After the peak ASP, ASP would fluctuate, sometimes up, and sometimes down, depends on the situation.

There is a lots of dynamics involve here about ASP, and how you define pandemic is over, which could take few years..3 years minimum when herd immunity is reached.

If you say pandemic is over by end of the year, i could only assume you mean infection rates under acceptable level by year end, not pandemic is over. Covid 19 is not a switch, where you can just switch on and off, and target a switch off date. example end of the year, flip the switch, and everything is back to normal.

The fight against the virus does not only depends on vaccines, yes it helps , but a lot of other factors also play an important role. Heath protocols, SOPs, awareness, movement control, border control, all plays an important roles, in addition to vaccines alone.

On 29jan price jump 84sen as ppl believed in Bursabet... Lowest that day was 6.56... 6sen from Friday's close. Meaning nearly 100% buyers got burnt. Where's TS n TG army that swore to protect the price?.... Where are you coward?

Personally, if i am not interested in a share or think it is not worth to invest, I would not go to that forum and comment on a daily basis. At most, I would pop in there once in a while to give my comment.

For a person to come into a forum and give negative comments on a daily basis, with that kind of stamina and persistency, i could only think of a few possibilities :-

1. he is being paid to do so, so its a job where the job scope require the person to do daily posting to get paid

2. he is trying to buy cheap, but price has not reach his target entry price yet, so need to come here and scare people to sell

3. he is a disgruntled employee of the company, may be got fired, so now trying to get some revenge by spreading fake bad news about the company

4. he missed the big rally, sold off way too early, now trying to get back in cheap again , below his last sold position ( similiar to 2 above)

5. Trying to convince investors here to switch over to other counters where he has vested interest or trapped, so he himself can unload

6 Nuts case, mentally screwed.

If he tells you that he come here on a daily basis because he is genuinely caring and concerned about the investors losing money here, would you believe ?

Short selling and negative media will cause panic selling by retailers driving the price further down..so that they can unload their portfolio at depressed price..does not make sense

yes Big funds are still holding big portion of glove stocks. Go check JP Morgan portfolio.

But even stranger is if they feel glove are going down, why they not sell down their portfolio directly, but instead go do short selling. i also really confused.
