The sooner speculators avoid this counter and switch to other counters the better. It is beyond rescue.

"5.80 is just another 3.00 down from current level. It's realistic."
It is not realistic because you were only making a wild guess. Maybank needs to drop about 33% from today's level to reach RM5.80. Assuming all the other component counters of KLCI also drop by the same margin (some with high PEs like IHH and P Metal may drop more), the KLCI should drop to around 950 points. Over 90% of the counters listed on Bursa would fall much more seriously than Maybank. Only a very severe recession would result in such a situation. We will be in deep trouble.

PunTatBerSiul, when you post something which has no basis whatsoever and only an ignorant person would be taken in, be prepared for unkind retorts. At least an unkind retort is much better than suspension.

"I don't think it has been a year. Please check your fact."
Did you check your fact when you claimed that Maybank would drop to RM5.80 soon? I am waiting for the stock to drop to RM5.80.

The US stock market is like a hyper casino. Just can't imagine big capitalized stocks could trade at PEs of several hundred. Tesla used to trade at a PE of over 800. Even today, Tesla and Amazon are still trading at PEs of around 100. How nice if CIMB and Maybank can command a PE of 100. The Dow is still more than 4 times higher than its 2009 lows, the Nasdaq is probably 10 times higher. The KLCI is only about 80% higher.

Tenaga's share price has been falling for almost 10 months now. Its lowest level in 2021 was around RM9.55 and spiked to RM11.00 just before it traded ex-dividend (58sen a share). NTA is RM9.90 and don't think it has much room to fall.

I think these charlatans who regularly claim that TNB would fall to RM4.50 don't have investment in the counter. They have investments in other counters and have probably been spited by other charlatans and now want to annoy others here.

Congratulations for having made millions but hoping that TNB would drop to RM4.50 is just a dream, and probably a wet one.

Instead of waiting for RM4.50 to grow your money, why not grow your money immediately by shorting Tenaga if you are so sure that it would drop to RM4.50? Noise from empty barrels are disturbing the peace.

KY, I do know that many American banks are now trading at single digit PEs and I don't know the real reason. Apart from bank stocks, American shares are still very, very expensive. Dow, Nasdaq and S&P component counters are trading at an average PE of 45 to 50, even after numerous recent sharp falls. The subprime crisis of the US triggered the 2007-2008 world financial crisis. Citibank shares nose dived by over 95% and would be bankrupt without rescue. Bank of America also plunged by around 90%. It could this reason that caused investors to stay away from bank stocks. There is no reason why Maybank should mirror the performance of US bank stocks. When the US market broke record after record especially during Trump's presidency, our market didn't follow. Even if the US market drops by 50% from its recent peak, it is still trading at a PE of over 25.

KY, there is a golden opportunity for you to make money, lots of money. Since you are so sure that Maybank would drop to RM4, and you may still give it a miss, why don't you short Maybank now? Short 1 million shares and when it drops to RM4, you stand to make over a cool RM4.5 million.

@NoUnderstand, economists/stock analysts of investment banks have to do rigorous research to arrive at their TPs for TNB but you just plucked it from the air. People on this forum know who is being dumb. Empty vessels always make a lot of noise.

"All in" KY, there is no possibility of Maybank dropping to RM4 even if recession were to hit hard. However, Cypark may fall to 4 sen in a severe recession.
2022-06-21 10:35 | Report Abuse
@Dumbass No Understand, if you are right, then the economists/stock analysts of the eight investment banks who had recommended a "buy" for Tenaga are wrong. Is this believable? Go and take up a crash course in English, Ok.

@KY, if you are so sure that Maybank, the most rock solid stock listed on Bursa Malaysia and the barometer of the health of the country's economy would drop to RM4, you shouldn't be buying any new shares and should dispose of all the shares you are holding today. Many other counters would fall by over 90% and Cypark may drop to under 5 sen. Why are you still recommending others to buy Cypark?
2022-06-20 23:00 | Report Abuse
US bank stocks dropped to lower levels in March/April 2020 due to Covid19 than today. Maybank held steady at above RM7 then. Hoping that Maybank may drop below RM4 is just crazy. Only a very severe recession, with unemployment reaching 20% and KLCI falling to 600 points and the Dow at 7,000 points will result in Maybank falling to historical lows.

@NoUnderstand, you mentioned twice that BMIB has a "buy" call for Sapura at RM1.50. I suppose you really believe that Sapura would really rebound to RM1.50 from just 4.5 sen. Meanwhile, 8 investment banks had recommended a "buy" for TNB with TPs ranging from RM10.43 to RM13.60 but you keep insisting that it would soon drop to RM4.50 a share. Do you Understand their English by the way?

Don't beat around the bush. Which of the past 12 years did TNB register a loss? Is selling TNB and buying into banks recommended by you still valid? The probability of Sapura Energy being suspended and delisted is 1,000 times higher than TNB dropping to RM4.50.

@NoUnderstand, in 2014/15, when the Dow was at around 16,000 to 17,000 points, the KLCI was hovering at about 1,600 to 1,700 points. The Dow then went on to smash records after records especially during Trump's presidency until it reached its peak sometime in early January this year. The KLCI wasn't inspired by Dow's phenomenal rise and remained lethargic throughout. Why would DJI sharp fall now have significant impact on the KLCI? When the Dow drops by 50%, we will also drop, but the fall will be much. much less severe.
