Most likely indonesia will impose an even higher tax and levy to subsidize the domestic cooking oil price the moment they lift the export ban.

Simeplt has only 25% of land bank in indonesia and it is a supported by foreign funds.
Anyway i do agree that the rapid falling of tsh is over done. But then i still favor pure msia planter...

Anyone know reason going down soooo fast????
.......................,............................................
Indonesia bans palm oil export and 80% of tsh palm oil land is in indonesia. Hence the rapid falling.
But the ban will not last forever. Indonesia is expected to lift the ban by end of this month. Personally i strongly believe indonesia will replace the ban with record high export tax and levy in order to subsidize the domestic cooking oil price.
Given msia's intention to cut export tax, i would say pure msia planter will outperform those indonesia counter part.

The amount of money they put in money market fund is about 45cent per shares. How nice if they return just half of it to shareholders....

I notice that flb put a lot of spare money in money market fund. Does anyone has any idea why they do so? Wouldnt it nice if they return the money to shareholders as a special dividen?

according to the report, the indonesia export ban could last until july. That is why tsh is going down because 85% of their palm oil land in indonesia.

Hope there will be a special dividen when they recover rm13mil.

like i said, panic selling was expected. Just the magnitude of panic selling was much lower than my expectation.

msia cpo stock level improved because the oversea buyers temporarily stopped buying and consume their domestic cpo stock only. Nevertheless their stock level wont last long indefinitely. They will eventually start buying again.
If u read the latest release from the cargo surveyor, u will know that they started buying fenzy early this month, which is about 40% more than the same period last month.

But then the price had dropped 20% from the recent top rapidly. So the competition for cheap shares tomorrow could be huge.
So sendiri pandai pandailah...

king, maybe i should rephrase myself.
To those misinformed newbie investors, it is a bad result because they dont know the strong seasonality of palm oil industry. So, their panic selling is very much expected.
if u r a smart veteran investor, given the similar cpo price range, then u should know Q1 result is always lower than Q4, Q2 better than Q1, Q3 better than Q2 and Q4 better than Q3.
that is why i said tomorrow is a perfect opportunity to buy cheap at the expenses of noob investors. Maybe not RM1 but definitely lower than today's close.
2022-05-11 22:00 | Report Abuse
well john, u dont know that...plenty of ignorance newbie investors who have no experience and knowledge in the seasonality nature of palm oil trees.
2022-05-11 20:24 | Report Abuse
john, trust me, not everyone knows that. I guarantee got noobs panic selling tomorrow. Those smart one already sold at above 1.2 and start to collect back tomorrow onward.
2022-05-11 18:40 | Report Abuse
Bad result is expected because Q1 always lower than Q4. Market already knew that that was y free falling from above rm1.2 in just a few days...
If u do your homework compared the monthly production figures then u should sell last week and buy back after qr.

Many of those who bought upon breakout at 1.62 are panic and cutting losses since yesterday.
i am happy to collect back my shares at much much lower price now.
2022-05-02 14:35 | Report Abuse
It is not wise to compare the Q1 result with Q4 because of strong seasonality of palm oil industry.
It is the nature of plam oil tree that the crop yield in Q1 is always the lowest.

Do u know why local funds r bearish on plantation stocks but bullish on tech stock? Because they still holding tons of tech stock but hold zero planatstion stocks.
Simply say, they miss it because they r so fcking wrong about cpo price since the covid outbreak.

actually CRUDE palm oil is only a 20-40% of their palm oil export only. Majority of their export is PROCESSED palm oil which is currently ban.

Malaysian investors prefer tech stocks rather than plantation stocks. To them tech is the future hence it looks hot and s.e.x.y, while plantation is an old school biz and boring for old uncle aunty only.

Yes Q1 production always the lowest. This is the nature of palm oil tree and no one can change it!

So unless it is a pure indo planter, i would say most palm oil palyers will benefit from the ban.
2022-04-24 11:47 | Report Abuse
Those who think indo planter will suffer big after the export ban maybe dont know that they hv to pay huge export levy up to max usd375 and export tax up to max usd200 a tonne. So they dont really make extraordinary profit from export compare to profit from domestic market.

Why Malaysian government did not ban export of palm oil to tackle domestic cooking oil price hike and shortage?
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
because msia government does not hv deep pocket to give up the 8% export duty on cpo. Now it is a perfect time for them to earn back whatever they spent on covid in last 2 years.
2022-04-23 14:27 | Report Abuse
not everyone is bullish on palm oil stocks. If it was then the stock price already flied to the moon like what happened in glove and semicon stocks in last 2 years.
2022-04-23 13:26 | Report Abuse
Despite the ban the domestic price in indonesia will still remains high because of domestic shortage. So, it is still a handsome profit for indo planters.
Of course, without doubt pure msia planters will outperform those with some palm oil fields in indonesia.

Yeah go buy tech stocks that lose value during high inflation. And sell commodties stocks that hedge against inflation during high inflation.

In fact, bnm is still dovish and reluctant to up interest rate.

No mater how, European & American anti palm oil, cannot go too far.

The funny thing is, despite the anti palm oil policy, eu is still the 3rd largest palm oil buyer after china and india.
Go figure. :)

Sell tech stock, buy commodities stock.
It is a no brainer to buy commodities stock during high inflation. That is y foreign funds keep buying our palm oil stocks.

Chances that they double or triple in market cap is much higher but with relatively small risk.
