7300 I have been following this counter since 1996. A friend was working at YTL and he told me how wonderful the company was, so I invested in YTLPOWR and YTL off and on. After 21 years of watching the management it seems to me they have started to run out of ideas. So what they seem to be doing is pumping cash in hand into businesses that are "safe" but returns are mediocre. Power Seraya is one big example. Huge investment followed by intense competition as Singapore opened it's electricity market to dog eat dog type of competition. Then invest in hotels here and there, again returns are poor. Now cement? Monopoly? If present gov't decides it is not good for construction industry to have one company control the market price, they may allow others to set up business, YTL will suffer more pain. At current earnings, they will have to further lower dividends.
ov123 is absolutely correct. I predict this counter going below RM$1, maybe as low as 80 sen, quite like YTLPOWR. I hope to be wrong. Will feel bad for investors especially our retired folks that depend on some of these counters for dividends like old age pension.

I believe they will be bullish in the near future, but next week? I would prefer to see what is happening with the dow and world market. There could be a major selloff about to happen. Now is the time to prepare a list of construction stocks that look interesting and wait for market correction before moving in to do some bargain hunting. Just sharing my views, I could be wrong.

upsidedown119 IWC has jv with greenland in johor. Maybe they can take a stake to develop BM. They can inject the necessary funds by buying a piece of the new company. By including Greenland, they will have a mega construction company to undertake this massive project.

Another possibility is IWH selling part stake in IWCITY and or Ekovest to raise the funds. That is also another quick way.

IWH is not listed. IWC do rights issue, will have to declare cash dividend to transfer funds to IWH. Not likely to happen. Something else, but we don't know.

Last year had teh tarik there at batu 8 labu. Mostly palm oil plantation.

Asiapac has big piece of land in Labu. Next door to Nilai.
