Short term investors will definitely sell some after IDRP for a quick profit. So, I do expect some selling right after new shares get listed. For long term investors, I don't see price fluctuation as a problem.

Subscribing to the IDRP is a no-brainer due to the 10% discount. It is like getting back the 10% tax that is deducted from the dividend.

Subscribing to IDRP attracts no brokerage fee, no clearance fee, and discounted price... so why is buying from market better? You guys not thinking straight la. Haha.

Personally, I rather it not go up anymore so that can get more units (this also means more future dividend) at lower price.

It will be foolish to sell for capital gains when IDRP give us 10% after ex-div. This is the best way to automatically accumulate more at a consistent discount. This is not a stock to play for capital gains but for dividends/new discounted shares.

Based on the latest Q3 results, Hektar's total distributable income as of 2022 Q3 is RM33.8m. Q4 is typically a strong quarter for retail and if Hektar achieves RM8m (which is conservative) distributable income, total for FY2022 will be RM41.8m. To avoid income tax, it will have to distribute at least 90%, that would mean at least RM37.6m. Deduct the RM12.7m that was already distributed, the remainder for Q4 is RM24.9m or 5.3 sen dividend per share. This means, total FY2022 dividend is 8 sen. At the last closing, gross DY is 11.7%. At 68 sen, it is 42% discount to its NTA. Even at 80 sen, gross DY is still a respectable 10%.

This would explain why the management proposed the IDRP at this opportune time and target to be approved by Q4 2022. It is a win-win situation for both Hektar and the shareholders. Hektar gets to keep the cash to increase cashflow and shareholders get to reinvest the dividends for new shares at 10% discount.

It is too cheap not to buy.

If AEON goes ahead with the REIT, "Assuming AEON Bhd sold a 30-49% stake in an IPO of AEON REIT...", so how would AEON shareholders be getting free REIT shares? Wouldn't they need to subscribe to the IPO and pay for it since AEON is selling an x% stake in an IPO?

I believe there is an analyst briefing after Q4 2019 result is announced in this month. The management of Jaks will arrange it this time.

All analysts and investment bankers will be updated on the progress of JHDP power plant in Vietnam.
We can get the actual news from the management, no more rely on newspaper news in Vietnam.

@DK66, you can see it for yourself here (but not sure if you need an account to be able to view it). Pattern wise, it looks like a cup & handle formation (as already mentioned by OTB) which is a pattern for bullishness but sometimes one will see what one wants to see also :). Both SMA20 and SMA50 are trending upwards with JAKS price clearly above both lines, it means uptrend is intact. RSI is not overbought. MACD is neutral at the moment, i.e. is not bullish or bearish in the short term.

Anyway, I always take TA on local stocks with a pinch of salt because many of the stocks in Bursa are too small and can be easily manipulated to "make" people believe or see a certain pattern. They can do it for daily charts but should be harder to do for longer term charts like weekly or monthly.

I agree with @steady31 that operators, proprietary trader, etc. are all out there with deep pockets to manipulate the price.

Travestor, is Jaks' weekly chart bullish ?

IMHO, TA like RSI and MACD for daily price chart may not be very reliable especially for a stock like this one. I suspect sometimes JAKS price is "manipulated". Maybe weekly price chart will be better.

Looking at chart is important too to know when to buy a fundamentally sound stock but only if there is enough volume otherwise it is opened for manipulation for certain parties.

I never looked at chart, but many do.

For a stock like JAKS it's really no use to look at charts because it is easily opened for manipulation. Hold for longer term is ok.
