Hard to tell how GP price will react tmr. GP's future looks brighter with TM's backing but short term wise it is not what mkt expected, i.e. outright sale of P1.

If the annoucement today include any special dividend, GP price will go up but it all used for working capital then tiada lah.

In the news rpt, it did mention buying a controlling stake for > RM1b. If we assume RM1b, then net of debt (221M based on last qtr rpt) is RM779m. RM779 divided by 690.4M outstanding shares = ~RM1.13

I don't think we will be worse off than pre-suspension but maybe no shooting-to-th-stars kinda effect only. Hahaha.

Maybe with TM's backing, it can return to its former glory days.

Nevertheless, it is still a positive for GP's future as a company.

Getting P1 do not need to go thru MGO. GP owns 57% P1. If GP wishes to sell its P1 stake, there is no need at all for an MGO for GP.

Previously, GP didn't have the financial muscle but now with TM, they will definitely have it. So why outright dispose P1? I'm just thinking out loud.

If I'm CC Puan, I would still wanna have a foothold on P1 otherwise GP is left without any core biz hence selling a stake to TM and not outright disposal.
