Well, let's just say that they hv all the required ingredients to cook a dish. Whether or not the cook has the skill to put in the right amt of ingredients to cook up a good one is another story.

I also hope it will drop to that low. In fact, it can drop to the level BV bought it even better. My bullets are sitting pretty ready to shoot.

Tomyamgong, MoneyKing, alexyap, the best price to enter would be 0.005 coz by then it is impossible to go to 0. Not only is your investment 100% safe, u can gain 100% with just a tick. Can't think of a better TP to enter.

Not force buy la.
Due to Palan & Creador buying of SK's 23% of MEGB, their total stakes crossed 33%. Based on Bursa's listing rules, Palan & Creador have to launch a MGO, meaning they're "forced" to make an offer for all remaining outstanding shares. Now, it is still up to minorities to accept/reject.
It doesn't mean minority is forced to sell to them especially at a lower price. Tak masuk akal. Hence this MGO will likely fail.

No fun here. Like optimusprine said, this is a 50 sen stock. It is a stock for long term investors.
2015-03-21 09:02 | Report Abuse
Yes, DreamHigh, I also prefer SMRT because even without MEGB, it is doing well. If MEGB's turnaround materializes, then it will be a huge bonus to SMRT.

Wow, optimusprime, what a revelation that you're sharing with us at 4am. In fact, with such an emo mkt it may even be a 40c or 30c stock. Haha.

A good start for them since they've leaped over the first hurdle, i.e. PP to purchase MEGB's stake.

@gauss, if u understand Cantonese I say to u "sing lei guai yin" haha.
However, in the short term I do hope MEGB/SMRT management will be able to execute the next important step, i.e. continue to sell the rest of their properties to increase cashflow for MEGB, declare special dividend so that SMRT could trim their debt.
I'm just getting a little uneasy with SMRT's debt level after the MEGB 23% stake acquisition.

I still have more "bullets" but watching out for even better price before attacking.

When price is flying I would prefer to sit back and enjoy watching my profits multiply rather than wondering why didn't I buy more when prices were low. Be confident of the fundamentals of the company.
More so with the CEO, Dr Palan, check him out at www.palan.org if u don't know much abt him. It will give u more confidence to invest in this company.

U so sure it is only 1 pp holder? If more than 1 holder, then each may not hold 5% or more and we won't know who they are, right?

PP investor is impossible to be Creador because the condition is stated that director, major s/holder or person connected to them r not eligible.

Oregami, 112m is a wrong figured reported by media. It shd be 60 sen per share.

Isn't now the best time to collect? That's why most ppl find it hard to make money in stocks. Price come down scared to buy, worse is sell even quicker. When price is high, can't wait to chase. Sigh.

@63333336, It doesn't mean staying listed, major shareholder can't have > 33%.
The word "mandatory" means the major shareholder (> 33%) is required to launch a general takeover offer. Now, whether or not minorities accept the offer is another story. If insufficient minorities accept it, then it stays listed.
2015-01-12 15:06 | Report Abuse
Based on the announcement, I believe The Star and The Business Times have incorrectly reported the deal.
2015-01-12 15:05 | Report Abuse
"...Arenga’s shareholding in MEGB will increase to 27.01% and the collective shareholding of Arenga and its PACs in MEGB will increase to 50.01% upon the completion of the Proposed Acquisition."
Above is from the source, i.e. SMRT annoucement. The key sentence is collective shareholding of Arenga (i.e. Creador) and its PACs (Parties Acting in Concert). Both parties are acting "together" hence their collective holding is > 33%. That's why it will trigger MGO.
Shareholders of MEGB will not be "forced" to sell at 60 sen. That is why Brahmal said shareholders can choose to sell or participate in the growth of MEGB post-acquisition.

If u want to understand the deal from the media, then read from:
http://www.theedgemarkets.com/my/article/smrt-creador-proposes-masterskill-take-over
The Star and Business Times, both giving so inaccurate info. I'm shocked.
2015-01-12 14:29 | Report Abuse
Hahaha....the Star reported wrongly also you guys take it as true. Read the announcement carefully la.
2015-01-12 14:26 | Report Abuse
Alamak....another wrong understanding....
It doesn't prevent MGO la....after buying 30.75% from SK, both parties owns > 33% of MEGB because they're already holding some shares in MEGB. Collectively, they will own 50.01% shares in MEGB after buying up SK's portion.
2015-01-12 14:19 | Report Abuse
Mana ada 97 sen new offer?? This Star news also not accurate. SMRT/Creador are buying the 30.75% from SK. That will result in both owning > 33% hence triggering MGO. RM112M is for the remainder of shares at 60 sen.

I think the 4 properties sale failure complicated things for this deal. Maybe Siva initially thought the 4 properties were only worth RM75M and hence willing to let go his stake in MEGB for RM0.60 (or RM74M) for an indirect "exchange" with the 4 properties.
However, since the 4 properties are now valued at RM110M, he may be asking more for his stake in MEGB hence the extension required for SMRT. That may also explain why he bought back 2M MEGB shares a day before the properties sale failure announcement.
Just my guess, I may be wrong.

Read properly. Aborted plan to sell properties to MEGB CEO Siva Kumar, not SMRT. And that's because valuer valued the properties at RM110m whereas SK offered only RM75m.
2014-12-16 20:23 | Report Abuse
MEGB CEO and MEGB BOD aborted the sale of the 4 properties to the CEO because the valuer valued them at RM110m but CEO offered to buy for only RM75m.
Good news is those properties are worth more now but the sale isn't happening soon.

@hng33, don't people usually exclude cash when deriving the PE?
In this case, 53m (profit from O&G) + 10m (profits from construction) = 63m * 10 (PE)
= 630m + 1.2b
= 1.8b / 532m
= ~RM3.40/share or ~RM1.20/share (excl 1.2b cash)
So, the price at RM2.49 is dirt cheap and yet it is coming down. All due to weak sentiment.
