The war of attrition waged by Saudi is very effective in killing off high cost producers for some time. Most international oil majors had already cut capex, retrenched staff. National oil companies had also cut capex and retrenching staff. So there wont be new oil from new conventional filed and it takes time to bring production onstream once the capex had been approved.

It is a known fact that Production of conventional fields r declining at exponential rates and need EOR technology to sustain production volume. EOR adds to cost of production even for Saudi. Shale oil wells have short life , have max production in the 1st year but declines exponentially thereafter. Therefore there is a need to constantly frack new wells in USA to generate volume. Rig counts in USA had dropped significantly and will drop lower in future...this means that shale oil production will drop even more.

Current futures oil market is overreacting to current glut situation and had seriously underestimated the future significant drop in supply due to cut in capex, declining production of conventional fields, shale oil fields.

It will come a time when the futures market realize that the future supply cannot meet the future demand and oil price will reverse quickly to the upside..

There has not been any major new field discovered over the past 40 years. Production in major fields will slowly but surely decline in the future years n to sustain production volume, most will resort to EOR technology which means added cost to production.

At the moment demand is not strong enough to consume the supply but the demand supply situation is not static...n there r variable factors that can impact on the future price movement of oil.

Saudi dictates OPEC policy on waging war of attrition but this policy has no real support from opec members...

Saudi is dictating OPEC policy but resistance towards Saudi will surely grow over time as this policy besides impoverishing other oil exporting countries will only cause further dissension n deeper fissures amongst OPEC members. This war of attrition waged solely by Saudi has no support amongst OPEC members. Saudi thinks that it can dictate OPEC but the real future power will be Iran n Russia who will gain big influence when oil resume its uptrend in the future.Their combined production exceeds Saudi production.

Future production of crude oil from US shale oil producers and the high cost producers will drop further. The low cost producers will win this war of attrition and will earn higher margins once the high cost producers had been helmed in as it takes time to budget for new capex and to bring production onstream.

Saudi and the low cost producers will enjoy higher margins in the near future.

With oil price hitting new low, Shale oil production and US rig count will Drop further. Saudi is winning war of attrition against US shale oil producers and the high cost producers.

IV WACC Future cash flows are not big words..its the normal word used in Corporate Finance..why you say "All d big big words big big titles"

So what info do u use in buying a stock besides the investment advice already stated by KYY since you had already poo poohed DCFA...which is the current subject matter of discussion by kcchongnz??

KYY advise is very straight forward and simple..increasing EPS year after year and he had been extremely successful with his investment methodology...look for shares with increasing EPS year after year..low PE multiple..ride the winnings until the EPS start to disappoint...not relying on NTA, IV from DCFA, EV/EBITDA etc etc

PLEASE DO SHARE ON WHAT IS YOUR INVESTMENT ADVICE IN YOUR SUCCESSFUL INVESTMENT?

For a start, r u a Value Investor who relies on FA, a Contra player or just a Technical trader or a hybrid of "FATA n gambler..all in ONE"?
