from dragon1 comment, did a little bit research. Indeed, the market are have many solar panel manufacturer. There is more than 1 dozen listed around the world listed and not to mentioned those unlisted in the share market. But Most developed countries and developing countries under UN has has pledge in the united nation submit to have plan and implementation to address climate change by 2030. They have come out with a sustainable development goals and SDG 7 is to ensure sustainable and reliable modern energy. Solar panel fall into this category. I believed the market will be wide enough for all the player as the penetration for solar is still low.

i agree with superb99. The management must have done something right in the solar business that help them to reduce their debts.

I believed they will do that. The more important question will b what is their client stand. As one mentioned most of their client is US and UK company. How will they react and what the impact? Also since EU rule in favour of china in the anti dumping tax, will this issue give their client a reason to switch? A similar case is ioi losing the rspo and then one of their biggest client stop purchasing from them.

The press conference is about the farmosa estate management trying to distance themselves by saying there is no wrongdoing on their own territory but not on the lease land which chinwel is operating
"Allaying the concern, Chanh said there should be a clear distinction between Formosa and Chin Well as the former is the owner of the industrial estate while the latter is the source of pollution."

In another news, the landlord of the are gave a press conference and said Chinwell admitted to the violation as shown below. So meaning guilty as charge??
A Malaysian company, Chin Well Fasteners (Vietnam) Co. Ltd, has been accused of releasing untreated waste water into the environment.
Vice chairman of Dong Nai Province People’s Committee, Vo Van Chanh, said at a press conference on August 12 that the company was caught releasing wastewater into the environment and burying a big volume of waste mud in its campus.
“We found the violation in a sudden check at the company’s campus on July 28,” Chanh said. “The company has admitted to its violations. Relevant agencies are investigating the irregularities to make a precise assessment.”
The firm, which is based on a 17-ha area in the Formosa section of Nhon Trach 3 Industrial Park in Nhon Trach district, was licensed in 2004 to manufacture screws, nuts, bolts and other fastening products.

The upcoming QR results might not be impacted. Will need to see about the following QR

I hope you are right. The last thing i would like to see is another environmental disaster. Is it not norm for you to buried the waste on site but then again, i'm not familiar with Vietnam regulation and work culture. It might be allowed there. My comment is base on the general EHS practice.
2016-08-19 14:51 | Report Abuse
i hope my loss of 20% will be your gain, bunchofjokers. I also hope there is no environmental disaster. Unless you work in the company and hv insider information, i can tell you generally heavy industry dealing with steel or metal does churn out high volume toxic waste. It is depends on the regulator to keep one eyes close or both. But if vietnam is serious on this, very likely chinwell will be impacted.
2016-08-19 14:47 | Report Abuse
& i see all sort of ways industry discharge the waste. Most famous is to open the tap during the middle of the night when there is heavy downpour. Base on the above news, they are found a large amount of waste buried on the site. Whether toxic or not, it is already against the law. And cpng is right, is this is an environmental disaster, it will cause them a big compensation and damage in reputation. So it is now depends on how vietnam goverment gonna deal with it

I sold all. I have work in manufacturing and waste water treatment is not cheap. Sorry to say many company do take short cut as it is cheaper alternative. It depends on the country itself. If the they can fix deal with the regulator, then it is ok. But again, heavy industry generate alot of toxic waste and it is a burden for operational cost.

have a chat with a colleague and he said solar farm in oversea are looking into reits model. Anyone heard of this? Is similar to the earlier article share by one of the forumer where ppl have no rooftop, no worries. You can buy or lease a land and install the solar panel. I can't find more article on this. Is this is true, it is big business for solar panel manufacturer.

Thanks for sharing Haziq. I heard people selling car park lot near UK airport, or hse land for alter development in UK. Never knew solar farm can can go to this extend where they built and sell to local consumer as investment. This is definitely another innovative investment platform. Good for solar panel maker

TP 1.55 only? I was expecting something like 1.80 before i saw cimb 1.82TP. Anyway, it is a growth stock. So worth holding and see how it goes. Also, the USD to myr this quarter average is slightly higher than last quarter. So i guess it should be ok.

Just have a quick glance on the previous quarterly report, the 3Q normally report much higher revenue in PVC segment due to festive season and hence should expect another good quarter couple with the solar segment growth.

Base on KYY analysis, it don't seem right. He always preach about his golden rules and his recently article is base affin-hwang research but you can see Y16 and Y17 revenue and eps forecast is below Y15. QtoQ also has been dropping. How does this comply with his golden rules. Affin highlighted the key risk for the forecast would be if there is a delay in MRT2 and in Penang master plan. But isn't there already a delayed in the penang master plan? SPAD and penang goverment ding dong on this matter. Furthermore with the issues with LGE and also talk about snap poll and other uncertainty, if does not help. Gamuda is near all time high and it is much higher compare to last year Financial results. Hence, it everything fall in line to gamuda plan, FY16 earning will still be lower but there is higher chance if fall out of plan.

I'm trying to apply mr.koon golden rule where he said
"I have formulated my share selection golden rule. I must be sure the company can make more profit in the current year than last year by looking at the last few quarterly result before I buy the share."
Base on his latest sharing on where I believed he analyse base on Affin report, the projected revenue and EPS for 2016 and 2017 will be lower compare to last year. Wondering how is this fulfilled his golden rule. Anyone care to explain?

Selective information posting again. How much in total did Chhoa Kwang Hua purchase during that period? If you want to say insider is buying because mrchhoa is buying 50k unit in total from the above date, then why didn't you say insider is selling as well because TOK PUAN NORZIETA ZAKARIA disposed 153k unit in single transaction on 20th april'16 and not to mentioned other disposal which is about 300k unit this year alone.
I'm not saying opcom is a bad share but beware on selective information sharing that might hv personal interest.

But i think it is much expected the ringgit to weaken no matter who is the person as there is no credible person. So it now who will sit on the position and how bad the currency to drop. Stock: [TEKSENG]: TEK SENG HOLDINGS BHD

Hence i believed the growth is in there. Also, tekseng is installing in new lines which is lower in cost compare to those company that set up 5 years ago. The cost might be more expensive due to new technology. If you familiar with sony & samsung story, i believed it is the same. The pioneer pump in alot money in R&D and before it can recoup, someone else come and ride the bandwagon and improvise it. They do not have enough time to recoup their investment.
