just to clarified, i'm not saying TS revenue drop 50%. I just look into solartech revenue which they publish on monthly basis. I can see a history of the revenue. Hence i'm using the same benchmark. It is just like when oil drop to $50 from $100, all O&G affected. Petronas is not spared too.

Britishempire, please define short term contract workers. 3 months? 6 months? 1 year? Can you direct us where to find this info. If a short term which is 1 year or less and i believed that the case of your argument, company will not issue retrenchment notice and let the contract expire. This is because if a company issue a retrenchment, it is a serious things. They need to informed labour law and filled the form and to indicate why they are doing this and proof all possibilities has been explore to retained before going down this path.

hi, if you look at TS management comment that their PV module is price at USD0.38c / RM1.50. Based on the link share by skyrider, the PV price is RMB 3.1 which is 0.47USD. Doesn't that means TS is already selling lower than market price? Also TS has taken a lower forex exchange for calculation which is 1usd to 3.95. Hence anything above that will help in forex gain. Not sure if i get the above right. Someone can enlighten?

Hi all, it is interesting to read those comment above. I can only believe TS will do well in long term. This is because many country is looking beyond fossil fuel and into alternative energy. There is a substantial allocation under UNFCC for the green climate. Solar power is one of the SDG which they need to achieved by 2030. It is a commitment of of all UN country. furthermore, there is many green grant floating around which solar panel can ride on which will drive solar panel consumption. My colleague came back from china recently attending a climate change forum and china is looking into big time solar power due to pollution generated from fossil fuel. Maybe due to economy slowdown, they hv scale back it. But do not forget, china like to artificial inflate their economy. Example building more property. Hence, it is not surprise if they invest into solar infrastructure. China has created the biggest dam for hydro. Now they are floating solar panel in the dam.

Hi Albukhary, the fine might be small but reputation damage will be huge. If chinwell client in UK and US are public listed company, they will nd to make necessary changes as most of them have strict policy on environmental. I'm not saying china manufacturer are holier but so far there is no scandal due to china environmental law is not strong. Furthermore, after paying the fine, there will be clean up cost and capex for the waste water treatment plant. So it will impact the next Q. Unless the company con't with the current practice and cont to pay fine. Not sure how well it will go with its client.

Also, tekseng 3rd Q PVC sales is always much higher than the rest of the Q. So, will it able to compensate the lower revenue for solar as what the 2Q did. Something to think about.

The cost might be more expensive due to new technology. If you familiar with sony & samsung story, i believed it is the same. There is more than 1 dozen listed around the world listed and not to mentioned those unlisted in the share market. But Most developed countries and developing countries under UN has has pledge in the united nation submit to have plan and implementation to address climate change by 2030. They have come out with a sustainable development goals and SDG 7 is to ensure sustainable and reliable modern energy. Solar panel fall into this category. I believed the market will be wide enough for all the player as the penetration for solar is still low.

i agree with superb99. The management must have done something right in the solar business that help them to reduce their debts.

I believed they will do that. The more important question will b what is their client stand. As one mentioned most of their client is US and UK company. How will they react and what the impact? Also since EU rule in favour of china in the anti dumping tax, will this issue give their client a reason to switch? A similar case is ioi losing the rspo and then one of their biggest client stop purchasing from them.
