The safe-haven currency in the Asia-Pacific region is likely to be Singapore (already a safe-haven for ASEAN). If the USD in turn falls against YUAN and EURO, the rush of money from Asia-Pacific is likely to be into safe and stable Singapore and equally stable SGD. This will spark a lending splurge by Singapore Banks. Since they do not want properties in Singapore to sky-rocket in price, they will channel the cash to Iskandar and its massive ready-for-sale properties. Watch out for a relaxation of Causeway daily charges as a signal. That's my take at the moment.

hng33. I think it will not delay. The deal can be signed and SELCAT can examine later after it's a done deal and not before. Otherwise SELCAT share executive responsibility if deal delayed or turn sour after completion. SELCAT is a committee of the Selangor State Assembly. SELCAT therefore won't examination the deal BEFORE finalisation. Only after finalisation.

kennth89. Interest rate hikes in general are no good for stock markets or for economic growth. They signal monetary tightening, higher cost of capital and consumption and points to present inflationary pressures. This increase the cost of business and the cost of borrowing which will negatively affect property. Overall there will be pressure downwards on economic growth. There is no inflationary pressures in Malaysia except in consumer prices due to GST - which is a one-off. The overall reverse is true. E.g. the slide in the stock market which also act as an inflation sink i.e. the downward slide in the KLSE is a deflationary process in Malaysia's economy. Increase in interest rates will add to the downward pressure.

It will take sometime for KSL's share price to recover after the repeated raids by the wolves with impunity. Investors' confidence do not recover well without confidence building measures by KSL's management.

Managements are the biggest bullsh'ters especially when they speak to analysts. I rather depend on hard data at source i.e. Bursa and not those already digested and excreted by analysts. I am not saying the analysts for Matrix are wrong. That's not the issue here. We are doing a comparison of the two companies. Maybe you are right about 'up-coming future profitability'. But to choose between KSL or Matrix, I will do a comparison.
