Actually in 1970...our malay language try to intergrate with the indonesia malay language but it did not work well as indonesia does not give too much emphasis to the move as msia is only 15% of indonesia population
still indonesia govt chose indonesian malay - which was based on the original jambi/malayu kingdom version of malay as promoted by srivijaya - to be official language of indonesia, rather than pure javanese, although javanese today form the majority people in indonesia
This is bcos other district & region do not know how to speak java language mah...!!
Malay is actually a simple language for example foreign workers from bangla, mynmar, nepal and vietnam within 3 to 4 mths come already can speak & understand malay loh!
still indonesia govt chose indonesian malay - which was based on the original jambi/malayu kingdom version of malay as promoted by srivijaya - to be official language of indonesia, rather than pure javanese, although javanese today form the majority people in indonesia
So, choosing javanese as official #1 language of indonesia would have inflamed tensions instead of enhancing pan-indonesian unity & solidarity
So they chose indonesian malay, which had a historical connection as the formal lingua franca of ancient srivijaya federation, but is seen as a more neutral language which has no association with any kind of supremacism in java-dominated modern day indonesia
You don't go chasing anything at high when surging la, ahbah, you just play patient cautious, wait to grab something good & solid with real strong business (no speculative or political stuff) only at very low
then wait patiently for reasonable profit, then just grab profit & run, don't cling on for long
then repeat
now not really the right time for long holding, not yet
Any language will begin to feel easy when you go to the home of that language, live there & interact every day with the native speakers, is exposed through mass media like television every day to that language etc. etc. etc.
Malay is especially easy for Indic/Sanskritic/Pali origin language speakers, like Bangla, Nepali, Pakistani, Indian etc. to master, becos easily 75+ percent of current Malay lexicon (vocab) is ultimately of Indic origin
For example, simple every day Malay words like 'suka', 'muka', 'saya', 'sejahtera', 'bahasa', 'bulan', 'tuan' etc. etc. etc. are all actually of ultimately Indic (Sanskrit, Pali, even some Tamil) origin
Becos India was kind of like the USA of this region in ancient times, it was the dominant cultural-political power
It is like romance of 3 kingdom....msia have 3 base political power base loh!
1. Perikatan & PAS with its allies 2. BN comprises of Umno, Mca and Mic with its allies 3. Pakatan harapan comprises of PKR, Dap and amanah plus its allies.
Yes vote for PH....it is touch n go....the 3 political power can gang up & form govt with each others loh!!
The non bumi must make sure their interest is protected & not short change & PH is the best bet mah!
Dickyme! Not only the malay politicians but also the Lims! Once upon a time, local chinese were reverted by malays, indians and bumis! Since the Lims taken over local chinese, they really mess up big time! Thanks to the Lims, chinese schools are now championing jawi!
