Actually there are 2 countries out there - one that occupied the seat at the UN till 1971 and the other since then.. one of them adopted the atheist marxist leninist system.. it destroyed its religions and culture, burnt ancient books, killed interlectual with links to the past..vilified its great teachers..including Confucious..(until recently when he was revived ..possibly to gain legitamacy as a soft power) ...i believe this massive and deliberate social engineering did not take place in the other...So I am not sure which of the two would many people out there want to identify with..By the way, this is one of the worst articles that I have read posted by KYY...

The Chinese people for 1000 of years viewed themselves as subjects of the Imperial Court, borned to serve the Imperial Court. If you are lazy to read, just watch the Chinese movies storytelling the past imperial courts. The heads of the Mafias and chiefs of the military became the Rulers or Emperors. How many innocent people had died in all the glorified battles and wars in China. How many Chinese citizens been killed (or indirectly) by the government of China in the last 70 years. The communist party is installaling itself as the present Imperial Court, the ruling party forever.. Ther is no rules of law. There are only rules of the party. at the end of the day, many people will choose democratic western countries when it comes to their family and wealth despite cheering on authoritarianism. why do you think these 'patriots' cling onto their foreign escape routes, having close family members holding foreign passport which -in turn- gives them the right to abode overseas? could it be that in their heart of hearts their confidence in the long life and invincibility of the communist party is not quite as certain as they would have us believe? or could it, and it’s necessary to be generous in ascribing motives here, be that given a knowledge of china’s turbulent history, people with the means to do so, take out multiple forms of insurance.
