Thanks Calvin for the continuous promotion of palm oil stock. I believe foreign funds responsible of buying up plantation counters last Friday just look at the huge volume.
1. Canada canola oil crop failed and canola oil skyrocketed from last world record of USD600 to New unheard of record over Usd1,000 per ton
Up by more than 50% of last world record
so if we benchmark Cpo last world record of Rm4,000 by another 50% in tandem with canola oil it will be Rm4,000x1.5 = Rm6,000
So Now Cpo should trade at Rm6,000 in stead with canola oil not on the horizon till Canada's next harvest by Oct 2022
Another competing soybean oil also now in jeopardy due to Very bad weather in South America
Can expect Cpo to stay above Rm5,000 all through year 2022
Also this year USA biodisel use will increase by another 10% and even more for next year
So Cpo prices won't be cheap anymore this whole year
Watch Argentina very carefully and also South Brazil parana. If dry weather persists and soybean crop fail Cpo might go into uncharted territory and later not enough will have to be sold by rationing like they ration rice during the Japanese occupation
The first wave of fund buying into palm oil stocks seem to have started judging by prices and volumes for the large caps. I believe it is a harbinger of good news to come this year for stocks in the sector. Time to make selective buys. The tiger will beat up big bad wolf if he dares to show up in the plantation.
> It pointed out that since listing in 2014, Boustead Plantations has sold 2,164 hectare of land, raised RM1bil in gross proceeds, and recognised total disposal gains of RM900mil. It has also paid out RM1bil in total dividends since listing.
