Malaysia export most of its produce, leaving very little left for domestic consumption. Then we have to import food from other countries to fill up the huge gap

Vegetables, fruits, eggs, chicken, durians mostly exported to countries which are willing to pay more for it, rather than sell at low subsidized price in Malaysia

Yeah
agree
we must force local farmers to continue to export to Singapore high quality agri products that pass Singapore Gobermen high quality tests.
after that we force low quality traders to import unrated agri goods into Malaysia.
That makes sense. 🤣

Let's just say previous even current administration have been short sighted! I mean, why the heck do you subsidies sugar! Paddy farming has been look down for the longest time since we can import cheaper from neighboring countries, but that days are over anyway! We also import cows from neighboring countries! If one day neighboring countries ban food export, malaysians will die of hunger! Fortunately the rice shortage is a good reminder to change course!

importing food from neighboring countries are over… or else one day we shall eat our exported palm oil, musangking and rubber seeds from rubber plantation. Planting paddy, rearing chicken is not sexy enough aa an occupation.
No result.
