The Govt is already bloated and there are many deadwoods. Even in DBKL, you can see 2-3 person doing simple maintaineance works and yet 10 will arrive in few pickups! If you have a budget of RM1M pm and you have 500 staff, each get RM2,000 pm. But if the staff are hardworking and efficient, you probably need only 250 staff and each gets RM4,000, which is double salary. Isn't that what the Govt should target as I don't see how the cost of living will go down? On top of that, petrol subsidies withdrawal will happen soon. The Govt has too many tea breaks and long lunches, thus cutting these will increase real working hours and thus less manpower needed. The Govt salaries and pensions are taking a big chunk of the Budget and we have been running deficits for years. Its time to address the issues at root rather than applying band aids everywhere.
