PETALING JAYA (Jan 8, 2014): Petronas Carigali Sdn Bhd, the upstream arm of Petroliam Nasional Bhd (Petronas), has awarded a five-year umbrella contract for design and engineering services works for its facilities to four local engineering services contractors, which include Perunding Ranhill Worley Sdn Bhd (PRW).

Interestingly PRW was in the news July last year, when Petronas' suspension of its licence for a week led to the deferment of a plan to list affiliate Ranhill Energy & Resources Bhd on the local stock exchange. The suspension Ranhill Energy had said, was to do with PRW's work on Petronas Gas' regassification plant project in Malacca.

In reinstating PRW's license, it was reported that only licensing for upstream activities was obtained. It could not be immediately determined if licensing for downstream activities has also been reinstated since then.

PRW is majority owned by Ranhill Bhd's president and CEO Tan Sri Hamdan Mohamad, who was fined by the Securities Commission in November last year for failing to disclose of the suspension of PRW at the material time.

Petronas said the five year umbrella contract, which commenced in September 2013, was awarded to Technip Consultant (M) Sdn Bhd, PRW, RNZ Integrated (M) Sdn Bhd and MMC Oil & Gas Engineering Sdn Bhd.

The scope of the contract covers domestic upstream oil and gas engineering services including front end engineering design and detailed design works.

During the contract period, Petronas Carigali will conduct closed competitive bidding among the four contractors to select the most technically capable and commercially attractive bidder that meets its specified scope of work and project requirements.

Ranhil want to raised RM750M on previous IPO. If RTO thru symphny 10 shares consolidated to 1 = 66M share. To raise RM750M let assume 1 mother entitle to 5 OR = 66M x 6 = 400M. Then 400M bonus issue 4:1 = 500M. So, RM750\500 =RM1.50.

So, TP =RM1.20.

Just an assumption. Not a buy call. However, buy at own risk.
