MIDF Research further pointed out that crude oil might have found its bottom in January this year with the subsequent price rise corresponded to the monetary easing by major economies of eurozone and China.
“It was further buoyed by the events in Middle East, most notably the direct involvement of Saudi Arabia, world’s top oil producer, as well as other Arab Sunni states in a cross border conflict with neighbouring Yemen.
“The bottoming commodity prices may arguably soften the pressures on Malaysia’s fiscal position.
“In addition, the favourable external tailwinds could also mean better days ahead for the ringgit. And by extension, the local equity market may benefit from positive flows of foreign funds.” it viewed.........@Ring looks positive oir Klci may hit 1850 as predicted by Edge

KUALA LUMPUR: A total of RM96.6 million had been allocated by the government to implement initiatives to widen coverage of internet services in Bintulu, said Deputy Minister of Communication and Multimedia, Datuk Jailani Johari.
Jailani said among initiatives being implemented was upgrading Bintulu’s interexchange to provide fiber-based services by preparing 3,000 port connections.
“Besides that, the existing core network has been expanded with the implementation of three fiber-based network connections in Sebauh and Samalaju to upgrade the speed and capacity of broadband,” Jailani said in Dewan Rakyat here today when responding to a question from Datuk Seri Tiong King Sing (BN-Bintulu) on the ministry’s plans to expand internet services in Bintulu, especially broadband using optical fiber.
He said residents in Bintulu were already enjoying access to broadband services from speeds of 384 kilobits per second (kbps) to 20 Megabits per second (Mbps).
Jailani, who is also Hulu Terengganu member of Parliament said the construction of a telecommunications tower with cellular service at the Bintulu-Samalaju highway was also being implemented.
“It also includes the connection of a part of Sistem Kabel Rakyat 1Malaysia (submarine cable system) at the Bintulu Submarine Cable System linking Bintulu to Miri, spanning 217 kilometers,” he said.
He added that the implementation of the sub-urban broadband (SUBB) project was aimed at upgrading broadband services in suburban Bintulu that can achieve speeds of up to 50Mbps and expected to be completed by 2019.
Meanwhile, Malaysia Airports Holdings Bhd (MAHB) has allocated RM38 million to add 16 automatic walkalators at the KL International Airport 2 (KLIA2) this year, the Dewan Rakyat was also told.
Deputy Transport Minister Datuk Aziz Kaprawi said the walkalators would be added to sections of the terminal that were too steep for people with disability, the elderly and convenience of other passengers. -- BERNAMA
I have followed Opcom for 9 years since 2006. And I am very happy to make 2 rounds of excellent profits.
This is what happened last time. Opcom won a contract of RM359 Millions for hsbb1 which translated to 35.9 cents gain. 22.5 cents were give as special dividend. Then another 10 cents.
This coming Project of RM3.4 billions given to TM might result in another big order for Opcom if things are in order.
The earlier RM359 millions project was given by PM Najib when he just became PM. This round Dr. M is telling PM Najib to resign. So things are not so clear now.
In any case Director Chao Kwang has disposed all 100% his shares completely. This is an indication that he sees Opcom fully valued now.
Opcom was 60 cents. Now already over RM1.20 - Up 60 over cents of 100% already. If Opcom should get 1% or 2% job from TM it should be RM340 Mil to RM680 Mil
So the estimated profit ranges from 34 cents to 68 cents.
So I think Opcom is now fully valued. In fact it has already run ahead of its fundamental. This is the reason why Directors & Insiders are selling.
Plus there is a remote possibility that there might be other contenders for HSBB2 like Leader Universal, Eden & others which might bring in cheaper fiber optic cables from China.
