ya. I was shock when first time I see the 10year chart for GP. Really bad last time. and for this ESCeram, currently I wouldnt buy in cause liquidity is one of my main concern but the financial for this year is improving (I havent look into the detail inside yet) but who know in the next few month I will buy in :)
Puncak Semangat (UMNO crony Syed Mokhtar), got all most LTE bandwidth, which is why we till don't have proper 4G and which is why it will be prohibitively expensive when we do. Somebody has to pay for all that corruption right?
Understand concerns about liquidity. but where can the price go? RM0.04. Do your fundamental analysis (FA) and sleep easy. Low debt, trading below NTA and also profitable. better proposition then GP. also why are you so concerned about liquidity. Some of the most illiquid stocks have performed well. Just look at Rview, Hup Seng, Jobstreet.
TailWagsDog: It's true that the asset is very valuable "now" so if GP still cant find a way to profit from it then maybe in a year or two the "asset" will become less valuable as technology keep on improving. Now with the options of using many low spectrum bandwidth to replace the need of high spectrum bandwidth. (mention in this forum months ago and also come out of the newspaper) if want I can try search the article. and now with the development of 5G in South Korea (I know Malaysia still far behind) but who know later government policy will usher in the technology.
arv18: ya GP didnt own 100% P1 but if the price/rental is right then 55% still means a lot for a dying company. agreed with you about other better stock, just that I havent reach there.
felix,, this is just a play for a P1 sale or M&A..just like TA..or YTLP for privatisation..hence entry px n cut loss or holding power is crucial..risk vs rewards...
Because I'm a celcom user but I'm not really enjoy the slow speed service they provided, that's why I just sell off my Axiata this morning. Now want to hear from P1 fans, how good about their coverage and service.
the problem with reading GP accounts is it is not P1 accounts. they only own 55%. so i would really like to ascertain the financial health of P1. They should spin off P1, and let GP sink, much like the time when time engineering sold timedotcom.
WHEN THE TIDE GOES OUT - ONLY THEN WE KNOW WHO IS SWIMMING NAKED!
WHEN A CRISIS HIT - ONLY THEN WE KNOW THE REAL SOLID COUNTERS FROM BUBBLES!
GPACKET HAS NO FUNDAMENTAL AT ALL
1) LOSING MONIES FROM ALL THE PAST YEARS. LOSSES AFTER LOSSES AFTER LOSSES 2) BURNING CASH FROM 94 CENTS DOWN, DOWN, DOWN TO ONLY 13 CENTS! 3) A SINKING SHIP IN ITS FINAL HURRAH! 4) WHY NEVER LISTEN?
THIS IS YEAR 2014 - A YEAR FOR CAUTION & FRUGALITY. NO LONGER THE CAREFREE GO-GO YEARS OF 2010 -2013.
Return OF capital is more important than return ON capital.
Stay safe with Silk (Don't chase now! Already up from 40 cts to 72 cts) PBA (Very Defensive) OPCOM (Shelter From Coming Financial Tsunami) PM CORP (CASH 21 Cents. Debt Free. Recession Proof Food Business.) MUI Berhad ( Will Benefit From VISIT MALAYSIA YEAR 2014) EPMB (BAD TIMES People Buy Cheap Perodua Cars To Go Fr. Point A to Point B) PADINI (BAD TIMES people buy Cheap Offers Fr Padini at JPO) ALL OTHER LAGGARD SHARES WITH FUNDAMENTAL
WTFFFF..todays transactions not disclosed yet..trimming his stake to below 20%..margin call??who's the big buyer..??? The purpose for the share sale by Group MD/CEO, Puan Chan Cheong (“Puan”), is to consolidate his finances and manage his personal wealth portfolio. Puan remains to be the largest individual investor in The Group after the share sale, and had reiterated his strong belief in the company’s future and steadfast commitment to lead the company’s growth strategy.
So now we know that the big volume is coming from the Director themself so will omit Scenario no.1
Now Scenario 2 have to change a bit become: the purpose of the disposal is to transfer or "fulfill the requirement" of the M&A.
Scenario 3 still maintain but now know that "someone" is Puan CC.
If in the coming days, no big institutional announce that they have become minority shareholder of GP then Scenario 3 are confirmed and the risk no.3 that I mention in previous few comment maybe come true; that maybe he want to pack his bag and move on.
Just sharing my thought process but will continue to ride this broken ship to wherever it will bring me :D
those directors are smart guys. first details leak about M&A - directors dump shares - issue a statement the day after denying and saying look to shareholders best interests (blah) - then registers massive sales after market closes (after second day). smooth operator.
There must have been other transfers of shares besides GP Hldgs / CC Puan / Kok Onn, to make up total volumes of last 3 days. Rough calculation declared disposals make up about 55% of total traded volume (roughly 240m).
Maybe the exercise is to consolidate all their shareholdings (own and nominees) under one vehicle. As yet the buyer(s) not disclosed. I suppose we should know very soon. Look out for media reports tomorrow morning.
Very likely there will be a GO for GP.
I dunno whether i am right. Maybe someone else can make better sense of all this. Vamp? pdtan?
The Upsurge of Big Volume Due To Business Times & Other Headlines rumour that GPacket might merge with DIGI or Telekom Malaysia. The News Drew In The Buying/Punting Crowd. Not One Or Two Substantial Buyers but a HUGE NUMBER of Retail Buyers Came Out In FULL FORCE!
These Massive Number of Shares Could Only Be Unloaded At This Opportune Moment By Directors When It Is In The TOP VOLUME TURNOVER.
After Chinese New Year Only We Will See Whether These Shares Will Be Picked Up.
I cannot be 100% sure. That's why we have to wait till T+4 to see how the shares behave. If there are still churning on hope of good news - the Musical chair will continue & GPacket will still be in top ten for some time. If not either Substantial New Share Holders Emerge or all retail players will pick up or cut loss.
In any case Warren Buffet like Insiders buying, not selling.
calvin, let's see how the price going in the T3/T4. This is indeed very good case study for us...hehe...question raised: 1. Who picking up the huge tickets? 2. why the price almost maintained although the huge qty disposed? 3. why directors want to dispose such huge qty in short period?
Good Question. October 2nd to 8th when GPacket over 60 cts the volumes not big enough to unload. The last 2 days there were a combined 205 Million shares traded. This is collated from trading pattern. Again I might be wrong.
u cannot dump 190 mio shares in 2 days n it only dropped 3.5cts without some big buyers..yest's hi was 0.475 after the news ..definitely not retailers can absorb nearly 200 mio..we cud see the big buyers absorbing the big hits..we shud get a clearer picture soon...
Actually, GPacket, OSKVI Belong To OSK People. OSK Bosses & People are my good friends. I hope GPacket turn out well. I will consult OSK Iskandar Top Boss tomorrow.
