Great news! The Covid-19 Rapid Test Kit is now available!!

Local e-government solutions and services provider MyEG has announced that a rapid testing kit for Covid-19, priced at RM99 per kit, is now available for pre-order through its website.

Interested users will however have to fork out RM990 to purchase a minimum of one pack which comes with 10 kits, as the kits are not sold individually. Delivery for the rapid testing kit will take two weeks, according to a press statement.

Revised earnings for Covid-19 Rapid Test Kits: -

Q) How much would MyEG be generating from the sake of the test kits?
(a) As an illustration, 5m test kits to be made avail for the USA's population of 331m equates to 1.5%. Let's use 1% as a guide for our case.

With our population of abt 32m, at 1.0% its already 320,000 people (excluding PRs, Work Permit holders, tourists, etc. So, based on RM99/test kit, a revenue of abt RM32m is the more realistic sales to be expected.

(b) Not forgetting the 1.1m people (or 1.0% of the Philippines' population of 110m)...another RM109m in the coffer!!!

KUALA LUMPUR (March 18): My EG Services Bhd (MyEG) has clarified that its Covid-19 rapid test kits do exist, and is currently awaiting approval from the local authorities and certification from the Ministry of Health (MoH).

In fact, MyEG said the rapid test kits have been cleared by health authorities in China and Europe, where they are already being widely used.

"Due to the simplicity of use for the testing kit, MyEG believes that it is an accessible option to increase testing amongst Malaysians to help assist in early detection and further prevent the spread of the virus. It will also help give Malaysians some peace of mind given its relative ease of use," it said in a statement today.

MyEG was referring to a social media post by MoH declaring that the Covid-19 rapid test kit was fake. The test kit was featured on MyEG's official website, offered at RM99 per kit, or RM990 for a set of 10.

MyEG said the testing kit is an accessible option to help Malaysians in early detection of the Covid-19 coronavirus.

The government’s e-services platform explained that due to the pandemic emergency, most countries accept the Declaration of Conformity, with clinic trial report and all relevant supporting documents.

As such, MyEG said it is working in parallel to accept pre-orders in order to secure availability from its partner, an undisclosed Chinese biomedical firm, to ensure sufficient supplies once certification is received.

MyEG assured that pre-order payments are fully refundable if for any reason certification isn’t received.

At 4.07pm, shares of MyEG were trading down 5 sen or 5.46% at 86.5 sen with 39.43 million shares done, giving the group a market capitalisation of RM3.12 billio
