Moderna develops vaccines based on messenger RNA (mRNA) to produce viral proteins in the body. They have yet to bring one to the market. The government has bankrolled Moderna’s efforts on a coronavirus vaccine with nearly $1 billion. In partnership with National Institutes of Health, they found that the vaccine protects monkeys from the coronavirus.

In March, the company put the first Covid-19 vaccine into human trials, which yielded promising results, After carrying out a Phase 2 study they launched a Phase 3 trial on July 27.

The final trial will enroll 30,000 healthy people at about 89 sites around the United States. On August 11, the government awarded the company an additional $1.5 billion in exchange for 100 million doses if the vaccine proves safe and effective.

In July, Moderna lost a patent dispute over some of their vaccine technology. The following month, the company stated that it could not be certain it was the first to make the inventions claimed in their patents, including its coronavirus vaccine.

The Chinese company CanSino Biologics developed a vaccine based on an adenovirus called Ad5, in partnership with the Institute of Biology at the country’s Academy of Military Medical Sciences

. In May, they published promising results from a Phase 1 safety trial, and in July they reported that their Phase 2 trials demonstrated the vaccine produced a strong immune response.

In an unprecedented move, the Chinese military approved the vaccine on June 25 for a year as a “specially needed drug.” CanSino would not say whether vaccination would be mandatory or optional for soldiers.

On August 9, the Saudi health ministry announced that CanSino Biologics would run a Phase 3 trial in Saudi Arabia, and later in the month they also started a trial in Pakistan.

A day after US President Donald Trump said a coronavirus vaccine could be ready within weeks and possibly before the presidential election, pharmaceutical giant AstraZeneca announced its clinical trials would be temporarily suspended, adding to fears the process was being rushed.

The drug company is one of several Trump is relying on to find a vaccine ahead of the November 3 poll.

BEIJING (Sept 5): China National Biotec Group (CNBG) and Sinovac Biotech Ltd said on Saturday four more countries have agreed to run late-stage clinical tests of their coronavirus vaccine candidates, as China steps up its efforts in the global race.

Serbia and Pakistan are among the new countries agreeing to Phase 3 trials, as the two companies seek more data overseas amid dwindling new cases in China.

Serbia will test two vaccines developed by CNBG's Wuhan and Beijing units, and Pakistan will test the Beijing unit's candidate, the company told Reuters.
CNBG's Phase 3 trials are expected to involve 50,000 people in about 10 countries, said CNBG vice president Zhang Yuntao. Trials have already begun in United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Peru, Morocco, Argentina and Jordan.

Zhang said foreign countries have expressed interest in ordering a combined 500 million doses of its vaccines.

CNBG is expected to be able to produce 300 million doses of vaccine a year once it upgrades manufacturing techniques, and is working on a plan to raise its annual capacity to 1 billion doses, Zhang said.

All investors know that a "miracle" vaccine (that is a solution to prevent further increase in deaths caused by covid-19 cannot be expected to be developed in a short span of time. Even if it can be made available to worldwide in the near future, the demand for gloves will still be unaffected, in fact it will increase. So its hard to imagine what caused the recent sell down of glove cos.
People with vested interest have taken advantage by spreading all kinds of rumours / fake news and reaping hugh profits every trading day - by selling first and buying back later. Small retail investors must refrain from panic selling feeding those manipulators with cheap undervalued shares.
Its the supply and demand that determines prices. So the only way to stop the current sell down is to restrict supply. Hold your shares if you can and wait - and you can see Glove share prices trend will reverse upwards.

The recent reports that effective vaccines could be introduced soon are all made by countries to achieve their political objectives. We must remind ourselves a miracle vaccine that is effective and safe is still not yet developed for SARS, Mercs, or earlier viruses -so it is incredible that one can be made available so soon for covid-19?

My conclusion is that it is ridiculous to sell Top Glove shares now at 7.20 when CGS-CIMB securities Target price is 9.20! Stop selling and hold . The sell down will stop and price trend will reverse - upwards - if the panic selling stops.

When the panic sellers stopped selling , many "new investors" will start buying, making the price uptrend - come even faster. So the success in breaking the sellers' strategy depends on the unity of serious investors to reverse the current sell -down.
