The new ceo is not meant for the Group but for the investment banking only. Datuk Nasir is still the Group's CEO. Correct me if I'm wrong.

CIMB Group has appointed Tengku Dato' Zafrul Tengku Abdul Aziz as CEO of CIMB Investment Bank with effect from 2 Jan 14. He will also assume the roles of Head of CIMB Group's Investment Banking Division and Co-Head of its Corporate Clients Solutions (CCS) Division reporting to the Group CEO, Dato' Sri Nazir Razak. the last time i waited for RM7 was the last time it dipped down to RM7.26 lowest... then it went back up to RM7.6.... I missed the boat... this time i feel RM7.25 'ish can consider.... BUT, i might be wrong... trading is unpredictable... if the circumstances unfavours me... I'll just have to hold :S

KUALA LUMPUR: CIMB Group Bhd, which requested for a trading suspension from 9am on Monday, could be selling 400 million of its shares to raise about RM2.9bil.

Alliance Research said the shares, which would account for a 5% stake, could be sold at prices ranging from RM7.10 to RM7.25, based on a foreign media report.

“Furthermore, the group will have the option to sell additional 100m shares if demand warrants. The proceeds of the share sales will be used for potential injection into operating subsidiaries for further growth, reduce borrowing and fund working capital,” it said.

Alliance Research said pending on further details to be revealed by the group, it was maintaining its Neutral recommendation for the group with a unchanged target price at RM7.21.

“Our target price implied a 1.6 timesFY14 price-to-book value and 14.0% returns on equity based on our Gordon Growth valuation model,” it said.

When it opens for trading on Wednesday CIMB is going go down as existing investors are not going to be happy with the placement at 2.7% to the market. I expect it to go below RM 7.00 as this new issue will dilute existing ROE
