It is still early. Got to see how other mkts are performing. US and China are in talk on trade matters. Got to wait for the final outcome from the negotiation.
KUALA LUMPUR: Key Asian markets rebounded early Tuesday as investors hoped the damaging US-China trade war could be averted but at Bursa Malaysia, the FBM KLCI chalked up small gains only ahead of the looming polls.
At 9.25am, the KLCI was up 3.99 points or 0.21% to 1,863.90. Turnover was 443.11 million shares valued at RM182.16mil. There were 334 gainers, 117 losers and 225 counters unchanged.
Reuters reported Asian share markets rallied as reports of behind-the-scenes talks between the US and China rekindled hopes a damaging trade war could be averted, in turn sapping the strength of the dollar and yen.
Taking its cue from a surge on Wall Street, Japan's Nikkei climbed 1.1% in early trade.
MSCI's broadest index of Asia-Pacific shares outside Japan firmed 0.4%. South Korea's Kospi rose 0.7%, adding to gains made after the U.S. exempted the country's steel from import tariffs.
However, Kenanga Research said the overall technical outlook remains weak as technical indicators look lacklustre.
“Given that the global market is sensitive towards the outcome of the trade discussion, expect the KLCI to remain volatile over the short-term.
“Investors should remain cautious amid the volatile market and wait for any decisive breakout from 1,880 (R1), which will likely then see it head towards 1,910 (R2). Should the outcome of the discussion be negative, support levels can be identified at 1,840 (S1) and 1,800 (S2),” it said.
All weak holders should have been shaked out. Just imagine how much volume were collected by operator over the last couple of weeks. Hopefully it is time for Huaan to rebound back to 0.6 and higher.
