Maybank IB Research also said there was a possibility of Genting Malaysia announcing an interim dividend when it reports 2Q22 results later this month.
It is understood that the many initiatives from the Budget would serve as a "feel good" factor and the Barisan wanted to capture the sentiments of the electorate.
It is unlikely that Genting could turn in profits for the April to June quarter. Hopefully it could dip below RM4.50 after its latest quarterly results are announced. That would present a good opportunity to accumulate.
Genting has been reporting losses for the past two years. A complete return to the good old days won't come so soon. Certainly not this year or next. We have to be realistic.
@choysun....yeah ASB and some big funds are accumulating Tiger but EPF is accumulating bullets (I suspect it's for their "feel good" project prior to GE 15).....so for the time being, it's tug of war at Tiger....but should easily break 9 after 2Q22...... .....Hope also Genting will start to roar :)
