hmm enough already. my view on MPHB is quite stable since price was at 3.12 back in August. the drop and increase of MPHB is very consistent and has been on an uptrend movement since the demerging news. My TP was RM 4.00 and has not changed since plus dividend issued and has been managed well. thank you :)

Kenanga said predicted div is 23.9 cent in 2013 translate 6% at RM 3.98 (fair value). Plus you get RM0.48 capital repayment. See if re-rating for Magnum is possible next year. But I am sure magnum is better than ASTRO and FGV stock that with low div.

The MPHB price drop due to potential delay/ derailed news.

2) Alliance say "Should MPHB not able to obtain all clear from the regulatior by this month, we expect the listing of MPHB Cap to be deferred from 1Q2013 to 2Q2013."

From trading pattern I can see big selling in >3200 units today. I don't know if the big fish want to depress the price first and accumulate. It does not make sense since they face difficulty to collect shares back when good news emerges(demerger perfectly on track), unless they sell to own accounts - I think unlikely since illegal. And, maybe some hedge fund just follow their exit strategy. Big players are also buying but very much less than selling volume. The risk is high now. A sudden bad news will likely cause more selling, a good news cause otherwise. Difficult to predict now.

whilst its still uncertain, its the non-denial from management that is spooking the market! read the first paragraph. MPHB rise all these while is because of the upcoming demerger!

- Yesterday, rumours were circulating that Multi-Purpose Holdings Bhd's (MPHB) proposed demerger exercise could be called off. After checking with management, we understand that the group is trying to find a solution.

- Recall that recently, MPHB announced that the Securities Commission had approved the
group's proposed offer for sale and listing of MPHB Capital.

- However, the approval came with conditions. These include requiring MPHB Capital to conduct an independent valuation of the property assets and comply with the requirements of the equity and prospectus guidelines.

- The Board of Directors of MPHB said that they would review the conditions and an appropriate announcement would be made in due course.

- In the best case scenario, we reckon that the demerger exercise would still go through.

- However, there may be a delay to the timeline of the completion as it would take time to undertake an independent valuation of the property assets.

- The worst case scenario would be if the entire exercise is called off.

- The issue with the property assets being injected at the market price into MPHB Capital is that the listing PE may be more expensive.

- Hence, we wonder if it would be possible for MPHB to inject the property assets into MPHB
Capital at the market price but still keep the indicative IPO price of RM1.00/share.

- This would maintain the listing PE at 14.2x FY11 earnings. However, the implied P/BV would be lower than the current 0.7x. MPHB Capital's earnings would come mainly from the insurance division.

- In any case, we believe that delays are inevitable. This is because it would take time to
decide on the next course of action. Maintain a HOLD on MPHB.

If the worst case scenario occurs plus in the near election time, I wonder it can sustain previous price before demerger announcement. Analyst believes MPHB is committed to proceed. Just dont know when it can be done. This is the major issue.

Should go for business trust unit and not new IPO! Do like what Berjaya is doing in SGX. Inject the insurance business into the business trust would be a simpler way to me! Then the current listed gaming will still be a listed entity!

But yeah, the whole thing may still be called off due to that!
