The One 4th qtr is usually BAT weakest qtr hence you see drop in EPS. But still higher if compare 1 year ago meaning management has taken steps to reduce expenses well.

Since last year, states like Johor, Kelantan, Negri Sembilan, Terengganu and Pahang have either banned sales or mulling a ban on sales of vape or e-cigarettes to Muslims. Malacca has banned both the sale and usage.

Conclusion

Despite the poorer financial performance, BAT is still a good stock for long-term investment. Its valuation is fairly attractive and its technical outlook is still positive. Thus, I revise my rating for BAT from a HOLD to ACCUMULATE.
