Don't worry, this counter is slow but worthwhile holding, those who are impatient are already sold. Downside is limited, when the big boy knocks again, it will shoot like rocket.
Now do not bother the price, see the quarter result and news, if the profit margin improves then it is sure. Stick to your position and wait for the fish. Fast gain is gamble and calculated gain is safe,
this is the counter of least fundamental value I have invested, but with biggest potential of fast earning growth. other counters I am holding are gadang, matrix, ptaras, lbs, scientx, takaful,....

Quite underrated cable with good potential. A great impasse day so far until someone did first sell at 1455h. Results due anytime now if based on historical dates.

The Board of Directors of Sarawak Cable Berhad (“Sarawak Cable” or “the Company”) wishes to announce that its wholly-owned subsidiary, Trenergy Infrastructure Sdn Bhd (“Trenergy”) had on 4 December 2014 received a Letter of Award from Pengerang Power Sdn Bhd (“PPSB”), a subsidiary of Petroliam Nasional Berhad (“PETRONAS”) on its Tender for the Proposed Contract for Engineering, Procurement, Construction and Commissioning (“EPCC”) for the Development of Pengerang 275kV Overhead Transmission Line from Pengerang Cogeneration Plant (“PCP”) to Peninsular Malaysia Grid and 275kV/132kV Pengerang Substation (“Contract” or “Project”) for a contract sum of RM257,018,731.59 (Ringgit Malaysia Two Hundred And Fifty Seven Million Eighteen Thousand Seven Hundred Thirty One and Sen Fifty Nine Only).

The Contract shall achieve the Guaranteed Completion Date on 21 July 2016.

The Project is expected to contribute positively to the earnings and net assets of Sarawak Cable Group for the financial year ending 31 December 2015 and 2016.

The Board is of the opinion that the award of the Project by PPSB is in the best interest of Sarawak Cable and its Group of Companies.

This announcement is dated 4 December 2014.

always no effect despite good news out, and so I'm out too, just sold off 50,000 units all today after holding more than 1 year at 10% losses. switching to armada to recoupe the 10% losses which i reckon is much faster.

thx for sharing. i am on the outside looking in...for some time and yet to enter due to its apparent inertness. there is a strong point though...safety. while it did dip during the recent world maelstrom and klse selldown, it also recovered all of it back plus some. only a few stocks can claim that.

i monitor sometimes de. This counter always 1 day show only. I up to 1.55-1.58 then drop back to 1.35-1.40. and part there for few months. Repeat the show 1 day again.
So if your price >1.30 is not safe. (1.30 does not factor in bursa big correction); if plunge for few months i think this figures will not sustain.

Internal info from Sarawak Cable Group. Hopefully, this info can help you guys. Profit margin for this project is huge with high risk of failure(profit become lost if fail) because they using new technologies(First time in Malaysia) in the transmission line, but if we look back to Trenergy track record. They are good enough to do this project.

SEB owns 21.56% of the shares in SCable. SEB might not be SCable, but having them own this many shares makes me hold this stock because it's obvious somebody (the CEO?) is building an empire. Hopefully, that translates into PROFIT! Someday...

Recently Sarawak Cable Own Leader Cable Bhd and Universal Cable (M) Berhad, Made them as the biggest cable manufacturer in Asean. Without them, TNB demand for cables will not fulfill. They are definitely for sure to get TNB jobs, the only question is how much?

Sarawak Cable getting better power deal in Sumatra

Sarawak Cable Bhd (SCB) is getting a better deal with the revised electricity tariff for its first hydro power plant in north Sumatra due for completion in Sep 2015. SCB's 78%-owned Indonesia unit, PT Inpola Mitra Elektrindo (IME), is developing the RM80m plant project with generation capacity of 10MW. According to SCB managing director and chief executive officer Aaron Toh Chee Ching, Perusahaan Listrik Negara Persero (PLN), the Indonesian utility body, had revised upwards the tariff to an average of 998 rupiah (28.5 sen) per kWh from the original average 778 rupiah per kWh under a power purchase agreement (PPA) or an increase of some 28%.

"The rate is very good compared with Malaysia where IPPs (independent power producers) get below 20 sen per kWh in selling power to Tenaga Nasional Bhd (TNB). Under the PPA, IME will sell the electricity to PLN for 20 years and the concession is renewable. (StarBiz)
